'I picked this hotel because it recieved a 6.8 "Good" rating on Expedia. It was far from good. I would have given it a 0 but that was not an option.The entire property is run down and dirty on the outside. The room clearly had not been cleaned. Therr was residue on the toilet seat, floors, mirrors and chairs. The tub was stained. Rust on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. There was a puddle of water on the floor between the tub and toilet. A drop of water landed on my arm. I looked up and...

'Room was clean. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was basic. Parking was in the city garage with first 3 hours free but overnight $16. Overall good place with some shopping and restaurants, and ice cream places nearby.'

'This is the second time I have stayed at the Oaklander. The first time there were stains all over my sheets. They were changed. This time the pillows were wrinkled and did not smell fresh. I had to request new pillow cases. It’s a beautiful hotel but when they tell you they are inspecting your room before you go in beware, you better inspect it yourself. Housekeeping was very courteous when they changed the pillow cases. One bright point. Very disappointing for such a beautiful hotel.'

'Stayed there for one night only and was very impressed. Very nice and clean hotel and staff was extremely helpful. Road in front of the hotel is too busy for walking so you will need a car for getting to restaurants or shops.'

'The carpet was stained and dirty, food on floor, thermostat fell off the wall, no heat, toilet paper on roll was less than half, and stains on bedspread. Needless to say, I went to the front desk and told them that I wanted a full refund and showed them pictures. We left and went somewhere else'

'Valet staff was professional. Check in was smooth. I don’t recommend a room near the elevator as it’s open to the lobby and gathering area and can be noisy at times. Walkable to restaurants'
