'This is a very unique hotel which makes for both positives and negatives. The hotel consists of some 20 buildings around the main hotel building. The other buildings are reconverted houses or businesses done into hotel rooms. Our building was a short walk away to where the breakfast was served each morning. The whole area was remarkably quiet. On the positive it’s located in a great location. We could walk literally everywhere. And there are no shortage of restaurants and coffee shops nearby....

'It is in a very pretty spot near the North River. Cows (ice cream) is about a block away and open til 10pm. There is parking and a gas station across the street. I was in #5, my room was lovely no problems and the tv worked, basic cable but still good. I would recommend for a short stay.'

'Property is mediocre for resort standards. Breakfast is basic and similar to best western or other 3 star hotels. It is expensive for how the property is maintained, looks beaten up.'

'Hotel was the best one we stayed at while travelling the Maritimes. Great location in downtown Charlottetown, a 10 minute walk to the waterfront. Easy parking, great staff and breakfast was good. Would recommend staying at this hotel.'

'The hotel is convenient to visit Charlottetown with the car, located in the commercial street outside downtown but not far. Room spatious, well equipped and quiet. The continental breakfast is included but like mos american hotel chains, self service with plastic-throw-away china which for us europeans is seen very primitive and improvised. The staff at the hotel were very helful and efficient as they organised shipment of the bag that we forgot in the hotel, many thanks for that extra service!'

'A beautiful historic hotel, we found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, comfortable suite (ours had a kitchen) and loved that we could do laundry at the onsite laundry machines. We could walk everywhere in old Charlottetown, and parking was free at the hotel. I would stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone I know travelling to PEI.'

'I would recommend the Rodd to anyone traveling to Charlottetown. I stayed there for three nights and found the staff were amazing and super helpful. Very solution oriented and kind the few times we needed something from them. The rooms were spotless and have been newly renovated and the rest of the hotel is maintained. If you use hotel gyms, it is missing a few machines but still does the job quite well.'
