This property is so beautiful! Everyone was helpful and friendly and the snorkeling from the hotel beach was fantastic. It was our first trip to Roatan and we will hope to go back!

Checked in at noon but room was not ready till 4 pm. No tv in main room just tv mount. Wifi extender hanging out from tv in main room. Curtains in master bedroom had stains white spots that appreared. Not what you would expect for $600 a night.

The junior suite units were really nice and had comfortable beds, nice seating area, large bathrooms and our favorite, outdoor shower connected to the room. You do have an indoor shower as well but we took full advantage of the outside shower. The pool and beach area was very lovely and I LOVED that there were shady spots for people that need breaks from the sun. The breakfast was great and the servers were all super nice. There were some things we didn't care for here as well. At check in, there was no map to tell you how to get anywhere in the resort. That might not sound like a big deal but rooms are located all over the place and have VERY steep walking conditions to get to your room. No one offered to golf cart us to our room and the incline (40 degrees in sections) was tough especially with luggage. The paths were not sidewalked so you end up dragging your luggage through rocks to get to your room. There were also no signs to take you to the beach/pool area in the front area in fact, there are no signs letting you know that you are at the resort. You enter in a construction zone and then you find the resort through it. Worst situation was beach security. I reserved 2 chairs and umbrella. We went to our chairs that were marked for us but another beach security person kicked us out of our chairs because he promised them to someone else. I am not sure why they were more important than us but that happened. I wasn't happy at all. .

Grand Roatan was right in front of the reef. We snorkeled to it right from our beach at about waist deep. There were fish even at a foot of water. The staff was amazing. Every single person worked hard to make the place great. Whomever is doing the hiring is good. Quality people. We had a cabana type on the hill with a private outdoor shower and a great deck. Although it was a bit of a walk up the hill, we loved the privacy. The staff in the golf carts would also come and get you to take you to the beach, or even the store, at any time. This place was a perfect place to stay for us. We will be back.

No where to rest !!!
Wow what a disappointment of a hotel. Situated on the best spot of the island, on the best reef for snorkeling and they have this 2 stars hotel at a price of a 5 star. Very outdated. Like an old block of apartments. You cannot sit at the swimmimg pool as the ongoing building works won't let you rest . The sunbeds are plastic very worn out and they look like they are few decates old. The umbrellas are ripped, some broken and very worn out. The set up at the breakfast is so low standards that they should be ashamed. Because the actual food there is not that bad. The personel who work there are doing their best. They are very polite, very helpful and they will go over and above to help.

I would have given a higher rating but the cleaning of our room was not consistent as time went on. Cups not washed. Coffee maker not cleaned. We were in a junior suite that was not yet renovated so it was just okay. Breakfasts were very good and the young man making omelettes did his job very well. The other staff are very good. It would be nice to have a happy hour so that the guests would mingle a bit and get to know each other a bit and have some fun. It would be good for the resort and the clients.

The resort has a great location and is wonderfully forested. The pool and beach bar are amazing. The staff service was friendly and helpful. However, there is a shockingly large multi-story building under-construction that towers over the entire resort. It's probably the tallest building on the entire island. It has been under-construction for 4 years now and seems like it's still a year or so until opening. It's next to the pool, so the noise is oppressive 6-days a week.

Pro's -Beautiful location, Friendly staff, Best Snorkeling location. The Spa and Gym look brand new and are the nicest I have ever seen. Dive operation onsite is excellent. Very convenient and helpful. Cons - Yes, the new building is under construction and there was some noise near the pool. Didn't bother us at all from the beach or while we were in the room. (Can't wait to go back and see the finished product.)

Beautiful grounds. Great swimming. Excellent staff. Just note there is construction currently on going. Brittney and Belkis were helpful and accommodating during the stay. the older gentleman who works on the beach providing chairs and umbrellas is the hardest working and personable staff member at Grand Roatan. The staff, restaurant and condo were superb. The construction noise and dust was inescapable. It was miserable with no opportunity to get a break from the noise. It permeated the condo, at the pool and even at the beach. They worked on Sunday too from sun up to sun down. Had I known about the construction I would not have stayed at the Grand Roatan. There was no test or relaxation. We are so disappointed.

Great place to stay. Access to the beach, restaurants, souvenirs, water sports etc was important to me as I didn’t rent a car. Resort was beautiful and while there was construction going on, it didn’t affect my visit.

January 2023- We loved this resort. Breakfast was great and they had a lot of options. Beach and pool were amazing, lots of great restaurants that were within walking distance. They set up excursions for us and offered complimentary transportation to and from the airport. We stayed in the Junior Deluxe suite which was perfect for just the two of us and it was like a little tree house. We will be back!

I enjoyed everything about this property. Really clean. I was excited to see the new improvements and expansion. The staff was amazing. The trip was great. Excited to return and stay in one of the new rooms. One suggestion please add some self-service dryers, so we don't have to take wet beach clothes home. don't know where to start, first off if you're wondering why this place is so cheap, or like myself, wondering why the place is so empty. Nor empty in a good private or secluded way, but in a MOST PEOPLE KNOW THAN TO STAY HERE TYPE WAY! The wifi does not work at, the TV's basically don't work. Like you, I search for places that have walk-able things to do, seeing as though I'm traveling with a 2 year old so my excursions are limited. But with the amount of construction going on, the roads are all filled with mud. To say that there is a lot of construction is an understatement, we might be staying in one the only actually opened rooms but they still managed to put us in a room with nothing but trees for a view!!There's not a second of the day that you wont feel as though your end the middle of a construction zone in the city, instead of a beachfront resort. ONLY highlight is the pool/restaurant! The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The beach is perfection! Clean, crystal clear water,beautiful sand, its what you expect from a Caribbean vacation! Seeing as though the pool and beach is the sole bright spot, on our very last night we decided to kick by the beach/slash pool because there's literally NOTHING else to do. Decided to take a shower, but the water didn't work! This place should not be opened to the public
