'Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cereals, and a hot cooked breakfast. The only negative, we had to pay for parking, we booked on Expedia and it was advertised as parking available, no mention of having to pay. We will use this hotel again but will book directly through the hotel website. ( cheaper too )'

'Great small homely hotel with fabulous views of the hills and moors. Nice bar and lounge with excellent breakfast in morning. We stayed in main hotel but the little cabins look fab. Will come back to try one. Great place to stay when visiting the area. Great night out in uppermill … lots of pubs and restaurants just 2 miles away'

'The staff are fantastic. I notified a member of the bar staff that we had a booking and he got me checked in immediately, sorted our keys out for us and showed me the room. He gave me good detail about the hotel and the fire exits, door keys etc. The rooms are separated from the pub by a locked door that you're given a key for. This is very reassuring and secure. The pub itself was quiet before too late so getting to sleep was easy. The fan in the room was very much appreciated as we stayed...

'Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. '

'Communication from them was fantastic, they let you know everything you need to do to access the property. Room was lovely and clean. Directions to property were very clear (unless you're an idiot like me who doesn't read them properly!) Had one issue in the early hours of the morning as the room next door was being really noisy but I messaged the property and they sorted it out within about 5 mins. Would happily stay here again.'
