We hiked both days (Rose River Trail and Old Rag Mountain Loop) and found Doug’s hiking binder to be so helpful getting us oriented to the area. 'We loved our stay. We only stayed one night but the apartment worked perfectly for us. It's walkable to the downtown mall and Belmont restaurants and situated in a quiet neighborhood. The inside of the apartment is spotlessly clean with lots of historic charm. We'd definitely stay again!'

'The home is situated in a great location. The back of the house faces the Robinson River - it's a very nice view. There are trails leading down to the river, a private pond, fire pits in several locations (unfortunately we couldn't use the fire pits because of the wildfires but I imagine it could be fun especially the one close to the river). There are hammocks everywhere, plenty of space for kids and dogs to run around. The home is rustic, lots of natural light and equipped with a fireplace....

'Could not be any happier…Hensley Hollow Lodge was fantastic!!! We were so pleasantly surprised at how a home that can accommodate/slerp 22 was truly spacious enough to be together without being on top of each other and the views were spectacular! Beds (& pillows) were very comfortable. Easy drive (10-12 minutes) to a grocery. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you might need (2 coffee pots and even 2 crock pots!). Having a second full fridge on the lower level for beverages or food overflow...

'I couldn't tell from the photos how close the house is to the road, and I was concerned that cars might make noise or runover the dog. The house is tucked back from the road on a rise over a small field, surrounded by trees on three sides. The road was not problem at all. You couldn't see it or hear it. The fire pit has nice Adirondack chairs around it.'

'Secluded location though a short drive to Shenandoah Natl Park. Fronts on a creek with relaxing sounds of moving water. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great; the furniture downstairs could use an upgrade. Large kitchen area with everything we needed. A nice place to escape for a few days.'

'Beautiful panoramic mountain view! Cabin was very cute and clean. It sits very close to other cabins. We had some difficulty with the front door lock because the battery was low and the TV remote batteries were dead. The bed is very firm and not comfortable at all. The picture/description said there was a swing but the swing has been removed. It has 2 chairs in its place. There was no covering over it so we were unable to use it due to rain. The area is very rural, takes 30-40 minutes to get...
