Anniversary Trip
Our sons and their families joined us for an anniversary trip. The house was perfect for us. Great location, close to train and short walk to harbor. Gretchen was wonderful, even purchased a pack n play as we had little ones along. The baby gates were super helpful also. Would definitely recommend this house to others.

Beautiful house in a charming neighborhood
The house is bright, beautiful, well stocked, and SO clean. It’s in a charming neighborhood within walking distance of galleries, shops, restaurants, and the beach, and a quick drive to Salem. Our host was flexible, friendly, and helpful. We had a lovely time despite cold, rainy weather.

Fabulous Rockport Getaway
We had an incredible week in this tucked away gem in Rockport. The house was immaculate and every detail has been thought through for guests. Very few rental homes provide more than a roll or two of toilet paper. Gretchen has provided linens, beach towels, beach chairs, soap, tissues and all of the basics for cooking. The home is peaceful, spacious and fully appointed. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

50th anniversary getaway
The home was perfect for the ten of us (2 grandparents, 4 parents, and 4 grandchildren) to celebrate our 50th as a family. It is close to the beach and close to downtown. Gretchen was an outstanding host, we highly recommend this VRBO property.

Great family house!
What a lovely home! All five of my kids had their own bed, there was plenty of space to spread out, eat, and play family games. It was so nice not to have to pack all the beach towels, boogie boards, and beach stuff because it was already there! The walk to front beach was easy and the town of Rockport was so cute and the perfect place for a family stay full of adventure!

Great, charming property just steps from Rockport!
My wife and I loved our stay with my extended family in Rockport at this property. Gretchen made the check-in process very simple and the property is charming and excellent located! I will say the stairs are very steep, but that’s normal for a New England property like this one. The only other thing to know is the third floor primary bedroom (which is beautiful and has an amazing en suite with a soaking tub and shower) technically does not have a door since the entrance is the stairs. Overall - highly recommend this place for small family gatherings or your getaway!

Little Piece of Rockport Heaven
We had a great stay at this property. We had a group of 8 that ranged from 2-60. A pleasant surprise was having baby gates and a stroller for the 2 year old. The “guide book” for this home that the owners put together, was one of the best laid out books I’ve ever seen! The house was equipped with everything that we needed to cook a few basic meals at the home. It was an ideal location for everything that we wanted to do. We went to Gloucester for a whale watch one day and took the train to Salem another. The train station is a convenient 5 minute walk from the house. We also walked to Bear Skin Neck which was about a 10 minute walk from the home. Just FYI while the property was lovely, there aren’t any bedrooms on the first floor and the stairs are slightly steep, but wasn’t an issue for us (we didn’t realize this until we reread the listing description again). Gretchen was great with communication and easily available. Would definitely rent this property again!

Property was as described except for the listing indicated there would be bikes on property but this was a prior amenity, since discontinued. Otherwise the property was as described and was clean and well maintained. Gretchen checked us in and gave us a quick tour and then left us to do our thing but also indicated that they were nearby if we needed anything.

The property is lovely, clean and well appointed. Everything you need is there. Master bath on the third floor is beautiful~~expect a few stairs! Close to all comforts and great dining options. The town of Rockport is something out of a storybook. Loved our stay!

Great Family Vacation Retreat!
Great vacation for the entire family. Communication was excellent and the house was wonderful. Our entire family of 8 were very comfortable. Gretchen was an excellent host and very responsive to any requests we had. House was well equipped, excellent facilities and outstanding air conditioning. The location is just blocks from the beach and a short walk to downtown Rockport. Our kids rated the vacation a 10/10. It was fun for all!

You know it's been a great trip when you rebook for the next year THE VERY DAY you leave to go home. My family (with two 3.5-year-old, very active kids) had an amazing time here. Gretchen made check-in so easy, showing us around, and was available and responsive whenever we had questions. The kitchen was fully stocked with whatever dishes we needed to cook; we had ample space and flexibility for my family and visiting guests; and having beach supplies on hand made everything a breeze. The location was perfect—an easy walk to the beach, into town, and even a playground on the way. 10/10, already booked again.

A perfect vacation home in a great location!
We had a wonderful time at this home. Gretchen has thought of every detail and the property was spotless. The kitchen and living areas were spacious and we had lots of room for different activities. There were games, books and puzzles and we made use of them. The yard has a hammock and two patio areas, wonderful trees and an small outside room to play ping pong. I also appreciated that there is parking for 3 cars and the location is great. Walking to Front Beach is easy and downtown is also very accessible. We would be happy to come back.

Rockport - King Court
The house and property were clean and well appointed. The one problem were the stairs. There are three floors and the size of steps is small and in some cases your feet do not fit, thus you have to step sideways. One family member took a slide down them. They advertised 4 bicycles, but none were available. Also, after we left we received a text stating that two of the beach chairs were missing. Owner says she started with eight and only six were there after check-out. We only had six chairs on first day, enough for 6 adults, but not children. It felt as though she was accusing us of stealing her chairs. No one from our party of 6 adults and 3 children took the chairs. We used them for the beach only and returned afterward. Overall, it was a lovely house, close to town & beach, but the false accusation of taking 2 chairs left a bad taste.

Hello Judy, I sincerley apologize that you were left with a bad taste. It was certainly not at all my intention to accuse you of taking chairs when I asked if you knew what might have happened to them (did they break?). A simple "gee, sorry I don't know, I didn't even realize there were 8 chairs" would have sufficed and it was really not that big of a deal as I told you. Instead you insisted that I was wrong and there must have only been 6 chairs even though our pre-check in inventory had 8. It turns out your group had left 2 chairs on the beach, where a neighbor of mine picked them up after they had been there several days. Again - my sincerest apologies for offending you and putting you on the defensive. I also apologize about the bikes - when you booked the property 14 months ago we did have bicycles available. Two of them broke, and we decided to remove them for liability reasons. I did update the listing at that time, but am sorry that you were expecting the bicycles to be available. I am happy your group enjoyed your stay, and am truly sorry that it ended on a bad note. Gretchen

My family and I loved the location of this home. It is in a quiet location and a short walk to the beautiful downtown Rockport area and Bearskin Neck. The home was clean and very well maintained and we really enjoyed the patio area with the hammock. Gretchen was pleasant and friendly and very responsive. I would recommend staying at this property and I would definitely stay here again.

This house was spotless, well appointed and super comfortable. Gretchen made checking in easy and she had fast responses on communication. The stairs are narrow and steep so if you have mobility issues that may be a problem. But this house was up to date while maintaining New England charm. We would definitely stay there again.

This house “rocks”!
A+ experience all around - it’s hard to think of what to list first. We were 2 families with 4 kids and had more than enough room to sleep, cook, eat and hang out. While the big things were amazing - excellent kitchen, master suite and outdoor spaces - I was even more impressed with the thoughtfulness of the small stuff. Hooks for towels everywhere, easy to operate blinds, extra everything - detergent, paper towels, kitchen stuff - not a detail was overlooked. Finally, a very accommodating and helpful owner. What a wonderful week we had!

A tucked away gem
Our family of 4, my sister's family of 5, and our mom really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. It was very convenient to beaches and town. We also enjoyed how close we were to Boston and enjoyed a day there as well. My husband and brother-in-law even made it to a Red Sox game. Comfortable and close to the beach!
A group of friends and I stayed at Gretchen's property and had a fantastic time. The living space indoors was large enough to accommodate a group of 10 comfortably, and we were incredibly close to Front Beach, which was very nice. The place was immaculately clean upon arrival, which we really appreciated, and the beach gear and bikes in the garage were great to use during our stay. Would highly recommend!

My family of 4, my sister’s family of 4, and our mom stayed here for a family vacation. The house is beautifully kept and is just a short walk to the beach and shopping area. The set-up is perfect for young kids, as there is a lot of private paved outdoor space to play. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 4 children. Can’t think of a single negative! Perfect location for a fun family vacation!

This beautiful home is within walking distance of a very nice beach, a small park with a playground, great shopping, the train station, and ice cream! If you'd rather stay put, there is a lovely patio, outdoor games, a ping pong table, and plenty of books and board games. We had a very relaxing, stress-free vacation!

This home is great. We were very comfortable here. It’s quiet, with a nice outside area to hang out right along a creek. Great house and great location
We had a mini-family reunion/vacation here October 2018. My brother who just moved to Boston, my family, our other brother from Ohio and his family and my parents. Rockport is a beautiful area with lots to do and see. We walked the 5 minute walk into town every day for coffee and breakfast. The house was beautiful. The kids loved the bunk room, and there was plenty of space for our group. Gretchen was wonderful and accommodating for early check in and late check out and was responsive to any questions we had. Overall was a great stay!!

Had a fantastic reunion here with 11 high school friends.House had everything we needed from location, to space to beautiful details, nicely stocked kitchen, grill, beach amenities, etc. Nothing was missing, and we're a pretty discerning bunch. Lovely home and wonderful hostess that treated you like family. Highly recommend!!
This home was a newly renovated older home with all the amenities you could ask for. You are welcomed into the home by the owner who acclimated us to the house. We felt more like family and not renters. Gretchen’s has attention to detail, from bikes, helmets, yard games and inside side games. Cute nautical theme throughout the house. All your staples in the kitchen and bathrooms were provided. Walks to town we’re so convenient. The beaches in the area are just beautiful. Would highly recommend staying here.
