The Space:

A cosy, characterful boatshed apartment right at Lake Ōkareka, on the north-facing side of the bay - so it soaks up the morning sun, with lovely views over the lake to Mt Tarawera. It's a compact, multi-level space with a relaxed Kiwi bach feel, ideal for couples or a small family. The ground floor has a handy kitchenette and the bathroom. Up on the second floor there's a comfortable lounge with a Smart TV and a queen bed, which can be screened off from the living area with a pull-down privacy screen. Up again, the A-frame loft has a second queen bed. There's a deck for your morning coffee, and the lake is right there for a swim, a paddle or a spot of fishing.

A comfortable lounge with a Smart TV on the second floor, and a kitchenette on the ground floor (fridge/freezer, bench-top oven, single induction cooktop, microwave and sink, with cutlery and crockery).



- PARKING -

Free parking on-site (the driveway and parking are shared with the main house next door).



Guest Access:

You'll have exclusive access to the whole boatshed apartment - both queen bedrooms, the bathroom, the kitchenette and the lounge, plus the deck and easy access to the lake. The driveway and parking are shared with the main house next door.



The Neighborhood:

Lake Ōkareka is a lovely, quiet lakeside neighbourhood - one of Rotorua's prettiest small lakes, great for swimming, fishing and getting out on the water. It's a peaceful, mostly-residential spot that feels a world away, yet is only a short drive from town. Blue Lake (Tikitapu) is about 4 minutes away and the Redwoods around 13, with central Rotorua and its restaurants and attractions roughly 17 minutes.



Getting Around:

We recommend having your own vehicle out here, with free parking on-site (shared with the main house). By car, Blue Lake is about 4 minutes away, the Redwoods around 13, and central Rotorua, the airport and Polynesian Spa roughly 17 to 19 minutes.



Other Things to Note:

A few things to know: this is a cosy, multi-level boatshed apartment with a relaxed bach feel, rather than a large house - part of its charm. The second-floor queen bed sits in the lounge and can be screened off with a pull-down privacy screen, and the A-frame loft bedroom has reduced headroom on one side because of the sloping roof. The driveway and parking are shared with the main house next door.
