'For a change the online pictures do not do a property justice. This fantastic and newly renovated lodge is set in acres of spectacular and interesting grounds. Everything has been done to a very high standard, including the service, rooms and on-site dining. Set 10 or so Kms from Rotarua it avoids the "smells". Our room was one of the smaller ones and lacked a good view, but nevertheless was well appointed and very comfortable (heated floors in the bathroom - wow!!) We enjoyed our stay...

'Beautiful property surrounded by trails to hike in the forest. Really unique lodge we were very glad we stayed. Plus was the spa and lovely outdoor hot tubs. While the meals were okay but not great, we enjoyed the social hour and meeting the other guests. Lodge rooms were smaller than expected. Beware that it is a long windy drive in and out of the hotel. '

'Het was verschrikkelijk. Alles heel oud en niet schoon. Schimmel in de badkamer. Wasmachine smerig, droger kapot. Wifi werkte niet waardoor ook de televisie haperde. Maar het ergste van alles dat de eignaren of beheerders onbeleefd en agressief waren. Het intereseerde ze totaal niet. Kortom een totaal zooitje. Ga er niet heen'

'We enjoyed our stay here immensely. It is a beautiful room in a convenient location for all our adventures. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. I highly recommend this location! The only things that were minor complaints were that the bathroom vanity was incredibly small with plenty of space that it could have been expanded. Additionally, we struggled to keep the room as cool as we would have preferred. We were there in winter, and the heat kept kicking on, despite our best efforts....
