We had booked a two-bed room for Sunday, July 9. When we arrived, we were told we’d been booked with a single queen bed. When I said that was not right, we were offered a room with a queen bed and a single bed on the third floor. There was no offer to carry any bags up. When I said we were looking forward to trying the restaurant, there was no response - so I asked if it was open that evening, and got the response “yeah, probably. I dunno. I’d have to ask the chef.” Wow, they clearly did not care. After lugging the bags up, we found a room with an standing air conditioner with a cracked plastic pipe. It was pumping out, but with the cracked pipe the room was still hot. The single bed was under an overhang, and our feet would stick out. The toilet was weirdly low, and the soap side dish looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the 19th century. We left to explore the Bay of Fundy, and when we came back, despite leaving the air con on the lowest setting, it was a sauna - well over 35 degrees. The restaurant was, indeed, not open that night. We checked out and went to Moncton instead. As we honour our agreements, we did pay for the night. The on duty manager did offer us a different room in the 2nd floor, but at that point, the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths, and we just left We did not feel welcomed at all.
