This bright contemporary chalet was built in 2006/7, and combines modern conveniences such as underfloor heating with traditional Savoyard character.

Perched above the charming village of St-Jean-de-Sixt, just a two-minute drive away, Chalet Polanka enjoys fabulous views down the valley towards La Clusaz, and is in the perfect location for making the most of the Aravis mountains.

If you’re tired of staying in impersonal hotels in the concrete jungles of big ski resorts, you’ll really appreciate the trouble the owners have taken to make this chalet a home from home, using a unique blend of antiques and contemporary furniture, enhanced with their own art and accessories.
Sleeping up to 12 people (maximum 8 adults) in 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms, Chalet Polanka is ideal for several families or a large group of friends.

On the ground floor there's an open plan living area, dining table and kitchen, as well as a double bedroom, bathroom and laundry room.

On the next floor, the main open plan living area has a large dining table for communal meals and a cosy fireplace where you can catch up on the day’s news and plan the next. Underfloor heating means it’s always cosy when you come in from the cold, and in good weather, you can open the patio doors on to the large terrace, where you can watch the sun go down over the mountains. There's also a bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet on this floor.

The other bedrooms are upstairs - two doubles and a family room as well as a daybed on the landing. There are also two shower rooms and a bathroom.

The two well-equipped kitchens make it easy to cook a quick supper for the kids while making dinner for the rest of the party, or perhaps for two families staying togther. The two living rooms and two dining areas mean you need never feel crowded, and kids have a choice of outside spaces where they can let off steam.

ABOUT THE AREA ...

Situated halfway between the ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, Chalet Polanka is in the perfect position to enjoy the best of the Lake Annecy Ski Resorts.

It’s just a five-minute drive to the ski lifts, and the ski bus stops in the village, just a couple of minutes away.These resorts are all covered by the Aravis ski pass, giving you more than 200km of pistes to explore, with 95 lifts. There’s great terrain for cross-country skiers too.

Non-skiers will find plenty to keep them occupied, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Thrill-seekers should head for the Bun-J-Ride in St-Jean-de-Sixt – a unique mixture of ski-jumping and bungee jumping that’s not for the faint-hearted!

Whatever the season, Chalet Polanka is the perfect base for enjoying life in the Aravis mountains. In the spring and summer, there's no shortage of walks from the door, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau, the scene of the Resistance’s campaign in World War II.

Adrenalin junkies are well catered for too, with paragliding, canyoning, climbing, via ferrata, mountain-biking and white-water rafting just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of St-Jean-de-Sixt.

Whatever you do, you will be glad to get back to Chalet Polanka at the end of the day, where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink on the terrace and perhaps a barbecue while you relax and soak up the evening sun.

Please note: During the Winter months as the driveway down to the garage is North-facing it gets very icy.
