Former farm on the outskirts of the pastoral village of Vale in the hills of the Carpathians. Carefully renovated with respect, patience and attention to detail. On the one hand far away from the pulse of time, on the other hand just around the corner of the cultural capital Sibiu-Sibiu in the heart of Transylvania-Transylvania. ... is a former farm with a noticeably cozy atmosphere in every corner. A good choice for families with children in particular, who prefer to taste the simplicity of bygone times on their Romania holiday instead of splashing around in the chlorinated pool of a 5-star hotel. We have awakened dormant jewels from decades of deep sleep and added modern living aspects to match.

The farm is located in the hills above the shepherd village of Vale, 20 km west of the European Capital of Culture Sibiu-Sibiu. It consists of a 142-year-old, completely renovated wooden house (2 double rooms) and a brick house (another 2 double rooms). In between there is a cozy courtyard, partly covered with vines, with a south-facing terrace and a summer kitchen. The view goes over the village, wooded mountains and down into the Transylvanian plain.

The country house can accommodate up to 8 (or even 10) people, in the first year of rental 2026 at a special price.

You enter the old farmhouse via the external hallway and enter the spacious living room with kitchen, a newly built tiled stove and seating for 8 people. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a refrigerator, induction cooker, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, espresso and coffee machine, teapot, of course plenty of dishes, spices, etc. Two dormer windows provide the room from above with light and morning sunshine.

On the south-facing terrace in the courtyard we have built a second kitchenette, as well as fully furnished, but with a gas stove and without a refrigerator. It is based on the traditional way of life in this country, in which the summer life and work mostly takes place outside in the open air. The second shower room, located directly next to the terrace, follows the same thought.

All four bedrooms have double beds, antique wardrobes, tables and stools. In the larger room in the brick house there is also a corner bench for game evenings on rainy days. Also in this house there is a new shower room and a third kitchen with a small refrigerator, but without cooking facilities. In summer it is empty - i.e. you have several cupboards and wall cupboards for your provisions - and in winter we will move the dishes and cutlery from the summer kitchen here.

From the outside hallway of the wooden house, a staircase leads to the rustic attic. Here you can relax with a glass of wine and the impressive view of the village and the surrounding mountains bathed in sun.

Fast WiFi is available via fiber optic throughout the courtyard, and in each room there is an LED TV with cable and satellite connection for receiving public and private German channels. On arrival you will find the beds freshly made, bath towels and kitchen towels are ready.

Hot water is produced by a solar system, and the heating is provided by a gas boiler in conjunction with the tiled stove, which supplies a buffer tank by means of built-in water pipes, and thereby all the radiators in the house. The interaction runs automatically. You just need to set the desired temperature on a room thermostat and do not worry about anything further. Firewood is included.

Of course, our optional offers such as breakfast, traditional menus or rural products from the village also apply here. The transfer from the airport or train station in Sibiu-Sibiu is included, and you can order a rental car or a baby cot with a highchair.
