'The language barrier was definitely an issue. We were greeted in the street by the off-site host who was upset that we were planning to check out early even though we said we were paying for the extra night and despite the fact that we had emailed June 22nd that we had to shorten our stay. This is not a typical B & B. It consists of 4 rooms and a shared kitchenette on the same floor as 2 private apartments in a multi-story building above the pedestrian area. No blow dryer or iron is provided....

'We spent a fantastic week in Graziella's apartment above the main piazza in San Lucido. She and her husband greeted us with warm smiles and we also learned from our taxi driver that she had phoned ahead to be sure he would pick us up at the train station in Paola on a late Sunday night. Graziella was very responsive to all our needs. She provided breakfast food , juice , water and beautiful bowl of fresh fruit and some beverages. It was very much appreciated after our long journey.
