Amazing Ocean View
We stayed at the property this past March with 7 adults. We picked the property specifically because my 87 yro mom wanted to see the ocean again. It was perfect for that. She uses a walker and was able to get around the property with ease. When it was too cold for her on the deck she was able to sit in the living room and watch for dolphins out the windows. We did see dolphins (porpoise?) once and lots of sea otters. Bring binoculars! Also saw a ton of surfers from deck. The upstairs master BR view was amazing. It is a steep climb up those stairs but worth it. My husband and I chose to stay in the studio since we both have knee issues. It was a little musty in studio as property had been empty for a while and there had been a lot of rain. We aired it out during the day when weather was nice and musty disappeared quickly. All of the bedrooms were comfy and the whole place is much prettier than the pictures suggest. There were some weird smells that we were afraid might be a gas leak so we called property manager and she came right over to check it out. Never figured out the smell and it didn't go away, but was just by front door, maybe skunk? We had a really great time exploring the neighborhood, We live in the desert so the surfer culture was fun for us to experience. There was no longer access to the small beach in photos, looked like storm has washed structures away? but the little beach but the cute beach 3 doors down totally made up for it.

Our family of 4 greatly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The ocean views from the main living area and primary bedroom are incredible. The home was clean and all the beds were comfortable. We appreciated being able to use the washer and dryers. The furniture/decor is dated but fine for the price point. My only request for improvement would be to leave a few Keurig pods or some ground coffee for the pot for those (like us) that arrive late.

Right ON THE OCEAN!
I can't stress enough the absolute stunning deck that is RIGHT AT THE OCEAN'S EDGE. My family and I can't believe what an amazing experience it was to stay here. We spent 4 days watching the sunrise and set, surfers, seals, dolphins, pelicans, sea birds, the changing tides... everything an ocean lover can imagine. We were hoping for a whale, maybe on our next visit! 😆 The house is so cute. It was clean and had everything we needed. The living room tv allowed us to catch the games on Sunday while still enjoying the view. Go Taylor's bf! The kitchen was great, but we ordered out for every meal. The capitola village is just a short 8 min drive to grab delicious dinners. We walked to the Point Market for breakfast burritos and sandwiches. We have stayed in the past at a nice hotel on 41st. This house is a huge upgrade and totally worth the price! I am already counting the days until we can book this property again!!

Right on the water
Nice property, no immediate beach access- though a very small beach was a few houses down. Parking was tight with three cars on busy street. Views and sunsets were breathtaking. Suggest more toilet paper/paper towels. We ran out. Rear stand alone room was musty and friend complained of mildew on light fixtures. Property in general was damp, but it was cold and wet during our whole stay. Beds were comfortable, master suite was very large. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

Perfect central location for day trips to San Francisco and Carmel. Great house for our needs. Could improve on stocking with few more essentials like paper towels, toilet paper and dryer wipes or fabric softener. This is important for a large group staying for a week.

Our stay was wonderful! The Home had everything that was needed for our stay and was spacious enough for our family of 7 adults and a toddler. It is easy and close to Capitola, The Boardwalk and great restaurants. The walk to the beach is very close and family friendly. The views from the home are spectacular. We could not have asked for a better vacation home.

Best location to walk with boards to Santa Cruz! Full on use of gourmet kitchen every night with absolutely gorgeous views! Owners responded excellently to a couple concerns and were very open to settling issues. Would go back in a heartbeat!

We sat on deck often...... I thought when we viewed photos of property 🤔 we could walk 🚶‍♂️ on beach from House 🏠 Not so.... waves crash rocks constantly which is nice, but no beack access. Master has good view with small deck. Approximately 10 minutes from boardwalk. Overall comfortable .

Did not disappoint
We had an absolutely wonderful vacation and this house was a big part of that. The location was central to all the places we wanted to see, like San Francisco to the north and Monterey and Carmel to the south. We also have family in Los Gatos which was close as well. The house was clean and quiet and had everything we needed for our stay. And the view! There is nothing better than sitting on the deck watching surfers, wildlife, and sunsets. This was a vacation we will not forget!

Awesome property!
I grabbed a cup of coffee every morning , sat on the stunning deck, and listened to the pounding surf while watching seals, a whale and surfers frolic in the ocean. I was able to climb down to the beach one morning and walk the mile long beach. Too much ocean the other two mornings. Prepared dinner every night in well appointed kitchen. Great house! Awesome location! Do the short walk to Point Market for coffee and breakfast burrito!

Great beach front property
We rented this house for 4 nights in April 2022. The house location is right on the beach. Very close to boardwalk, warf, capitola. My only complaint about the property was the cleanliness was not perfect for the amount we were paying. And the driveway is very very short. A truck will not fit on the driveway and there’s no street parking. The stairs down to the beach are very fun! Great beach in front! Great neighborhood and location!

Beautiful Ocean Front Rental
The waves are mesmerizing. The house is very functional for a large family. The teenagers enjoyed riding the beach bikes which were provided. The only “negative” aspect was the inability to access the TV ~ none of us could figure it out ~ including a couple of teachers and younger people.

We celebrated a family birthday over Labor Day and found the view from the deck and the sounds of the waves to be absolutely addicting. Truly a special house and a spectacular spot. Owners and managers very responsive.

Good house, most things you need for a stay. Close to favorite beaches, but no beach exists below property. No shampoo on bathrooms, bring your own. Good sand toys in garage, enjoyed using the cruiser bikes to ride to Capitola.

Stunning Oceanside Home near Pleasure Point
This home was amazing! It overlooks the ocean and access tp the beach is just a few houses down. This house had it all--big deck, lots of kitchen amenities, lovely rooms and tons of beach toys (chairs, surfboards, bikes, boogie boards). We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Santa Cruz!

Fantastic beachfront rental
We have been coming to Santa Cruz for 10 years, and this is the best rental yet. A huge deck overlooks the rocks and beach. Sunsets are amazing. the home is very spacious and includes a separate room off of a courtyard. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. An easy drive to the boardwalk or downtown Santa Cruz, yet all the privacy you could want.

Exceeded expectations!!
We were a girls trip of 8 ladies and every one of us was blown away by this property. It was comfortable, well appointed and the view is spectacular! The beds are comfortable and the linens were lovely. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to prepare meals if desired. We even used the bbq one evening. The garage is stocked with goodies for the beach which is just steps beyond the back deck. The check in process was flawless and communication with the owner was simple! We will recommend this property and hope To one day come back.

Amazing ocean front getaway
This place had everything we were looking for and more! The views were amazing. We enjoyed family time, football playoffs, the beach, bbq on the ocean front patio. The home was fully furnished with spectacular views, very clean, and plenty of space. The upstairs bedroom was spectacular to just sit back and watch the waves roll in with the ocean roar in the background. The back patio sits right on top of the ocean with a lot of sights of wildlife, dolphins, birds, sea otters, etc. Tara, was a pleasure to work with excellent communications, helping with all my questions and getting us set up here! We didn’t even want to go home, and now that we are home we are already plotting our next return, sooner than later!

Very Dwceptive Listing
Should read “Ocean View House” not “Beach House” as the beach is nonexistent. You have to walk on huge treacherous slippery rocks to get to “beach” which is only accessible at extreme low tides, and then only a few feet of sand. No stairs. No real access at all. My disabled daughter, elderly mother and seven year old had no beach access at the “beach house” for the whole vacation. Only my teen boy could handle the slippery rocks. I turned down three better houses that are really on the beach for this one at the same high price. Would never do it again. Plus, walking on the road with beach equipment is also dangerous as the house is on a busy blind curve and there is no space to walk safely. Also the house was dirty and very dusty. Dishwasher barely works, had to wash dishes three times! There were no dish towels and the toilet paper ran out two days early. We feel like we wasted our money and were deceived.

heavenly family vacation
this home is a very special experience and amazing esp for ocean lovers! pleasure point is a residential area for surfers so you get to experience seeing people who surf as a way of life and we so enjoyed it. we had dinners on the deck at sunset every night and it was magical. the little beach a few doors down is great. you can take a long walk on that beach. you can also walk along the ocean to 41st ave. the tide was high when we were there so the ocean was our entire view each day. our kids are 7, 10 , 12 and it was good for us because our kids mostly obeyed us but with high tide at the house you just need to make sure little kids don’t go down the stairs. they do block it off but i’d still want to watch that with 4-10 year old kids. Overall, this was one of our very favorite trips away. Such an amazing getaway during covid. what a welcome change of scenery and I felt so grateful the owners are willing to rent such a gem of a house. We will definitely want to come back!

Incredible Views
I moved 25 years ago to Utah. (rest are still in SJ and surrounding area) Santa Cruz area is where I gravitate to each time I visit. Love the beach! Spent 4 days here with 2 sisters, brother and his gal (they stayed in the courtyard room which is pretty private) and our Mom. We celebrated her 84th b-day. I was in master with my Mom. What a room! Spectacular views! Everyone liked their rooms and the set up. Weather was great for 2 days, then foggy (but not freezing) last 2 days. The deck is absolutely amazing! I don't know why people complain about no beach access, it states "tides permitting". We at first , I will admit, thought, oh, no beach access but we quickly changed that thought within minutes of being on deck due to the experience of the waves crashing on the rocks! That happening made us all smile. It was the best part of being there especially at night, the waves were loud and amazing! We were on the deck plenty and enjoyed the constant smashing of the waves, also saw dolphins, otters (we think) and seals. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk north of house. The house is very nice and beds, couches, etc., all comfortable. Beachy decorations, loved it! The other nice thing is that since the pandemic, my Mom was feeling housebound, this got her out of her house to a different environment and view. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I could go on and on but check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed! We'll be back for sure!

The view is worth millions
We stayed in this stunning home to celebrate my dads 80th birthday. What attracted us to this amazing property was the location. It is right on the water and we were lulled to sleep by the waves crashing on the shore. We were pleasantly surprised by the soft comfortable beds. We loved the fact that it featured three king sized beds plus a 4th bedroom with a queen. There is a home two doors down by the same owner if you have a large group. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of lovely plates, quality pots and pans and silverware. The deck is large and has plenty of seating with a beautiful table and bbq. I would give it six stars if I could. Looking forward to a return visit very soon.

Enjoyed our stay, but it’s not what it appears to be ...
The pictures sold us on this house, unfortunately they aren’t accurate. This house is in a good location with a perfect view of the ocean, the Santa Cruz boardwalk, the lighthouse, and much of the Monterey peninsula. Meals on the deck, especially dinner with a sunset view, were fantastic. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, wifi worked great (we had 3 people working remotely for a week on a lot of devices), and we really liked being close to both Santa Cruz and Capitola! The house is 3 doors down from a nice little beach, but you all need to know that there is absolutely no beach in front of the house. The first 4 pictures in the listing show a beach - they are obviously pictures from MANY years ago. Today, there is no sand exposed whatsoever, the steps shown abruptly stop half way down (washed away over the years) with a 6 foot drop to the rocks/water, and the rocks are covered in moss. The pictures include a description that highlights the beach that is “tides/swell permitting” - that’s just not true. It has nothing to do with tides, the pictures aren’t current. It’s very misleading. It’s a great view, it’s not a beach. If that’s ok, you’ll be very happy staying here.

Future Guests, There are cement steps through rocks (unless the guest was in the wrong area) to the sand when there is sand out front. Tides, swells, currents can be drastic and change sand levels in 1 day, that is a fact of how the ocean works. Please see previous reviews. And yes, there is a State beach a few doors down where the sand meets the road. Manager

A Perfect Getaway Spot
This home was the perfect spot for a getaway with our adult kids. The views from the deck and kitchen / dining area are unbelievable and the same goes for master suite and upstairs deck. The location is close to great restaurants for take out and a very short walk to the beach. Nicely furnished and well stocked with beach gear. The garage is also a big plus. We hope to stay here again!
