'We had a wonderful stay in this villa. The villa was very clean. The house was nicely decorated and fully equipped. We especially liked the swimming pool and the terraces. The Douro Valley is beautiful! There are a lot of possibilities for trips, such as Porto, Braga or the Paiva Walkways. The communication with João was also very good.'

'We had a fabulous time at casa do Monte! The villa is perfect for large families, well equipped and the grounds are beautiful. Marcus was very accommodating and even arranged for us to have a traditional Portuguese BBQ. I highly recommend this villa.'

'the people we spoke with were nice. However it was not the unit that was shown in ad. No heat for two nights, wifi did not work. The actual property owner never did respond to our questions about the hear or wifi. The neighbour helped us out.'

'My wife and I celebrated our 25 year wedding anniversary at the Quinta. It's location made it convenient to visit local museums, wineries and Churches. The location also allowed us to explore many nearby small towns for amazing meals and to meet lovely people. Porto is only ~1.4hrs by tollway, which is 90% of the travel. We highly recommend taking the train, just across the Douro in Régua, out to Pocinho for a relaxing lunch and walk around the quaint town before returning. The railway view...

'Mooie verzorgde woning waar alles in zit. De slaapkamers en het dakterras zijn mooi. De badkamers zijn te klein. 1,5 m2 voor douche, toilet en wastafel! Ook de keuken is klein hoewel alles aanwezig is wat je nodig hebt. Maar als je bij slecht weer binnen moet zitten in plaats van op het dakterras kan dat niet met 4 mensen. Met 2 mensen is dat al erg krap! Het pas geven van informatie over parkeren en inchecken op de dag van aankomst is te laat. Je wilt weten waar je kan parkeren als je aankomt...

'The area was gorgeous and the view could not be beat. We made fresh orange juice and lemonade from the citrus trees, walked in the vineyard and cork forest, and enjoyed the quiet. The downside was the drive- it was a bit far from town and needs to be driven in daylight- do not attempt at night (single lane, tight curves, no guardrails, very rural). The house was spacious but could use some upgrades.'

'Wat een prachtig huis, een fantastisch uitzicht op de vallei en een mooie omgeving! Wij waren er een week met ons gezin (12 personen) om ons 50-jarig huwelijk te vieren. Iedereen was zeer verrast door de mooie plek. Het enige minpuntje was dat Maria niet voor ons bleek te kunnen koken, terwijl in de informatiemap beschreven stond wat zij allemaal zou kunnen maken.'

'The tour around the town is really interesting, if you get the opportunity to do the private tour I’d highly recommend it, we even went into backyards to check on the almonds drying, and picked figs off the tree to eat. So relaxing and quiet. Dinner and breakfast in the Restaurant was delicious and the service brilliant, The apartment has subdued lighting which fits with the room but might not be enough for everyone, we would stay here again if in the area.'

'We loved the villa and the surrounding vineyard setting! It was a difficult drive up without signage around the villa and would recommend arriving during daylight. But the drive was worth it!!'
