If you are visiting Sighisoara and can find rooms in Taschler Haus, look no further. This is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. The hosts - Jan and Silvia - are incredibly kind and thoughtful. The room we stayed in was so beautifully furnished that we almost did not want to put down our bags for the fear of disturbing it. The place looked like something out of a Vermeer painting. We had been provided water, tea, coffee, yogurt, cake, donuts, and even two bottles of dry and sweet aperitif. And even though our booking did not include breakfast, our hosts had coffee, yogurt, and delicious croissants for us in the morning. The house is an old house with a lot of old-style fittings that give it a nice atmosphere, but the fitting are very modern where it matters, i.e., in the bathroom. A great combination of convenience and style. And then there's the location! The house is situated right outside the main gate into the citadel. When you come out of the hallway on to the street, you face the gate just a few feet away, A 2-minute walk on the cobbled pathway going through it and you are at the clock-tower. I think this is better than staying in the citadel because it also gives you access to the lower town where the eating options are more diverse. The location feels very safe and secure. We stayed only one night but wish it was longer. Sighisoara is a beautiful town with great atmosphere - a place we would like to return to, and stay again in Taschler Haus.
