It is a large property on which to spend time alone, feels like a square mile. With three days to enjoy a stay, I found that the place is a rare opportunity to witness nature on its terms. The oak/pine woodlands with resident wild turkeys and deer, and a kestrel flying, greeted me along the steep driveway after leaving the main road. At a creekside meadow find a tiny home set close to its outdoor living areas. Once out of the car notice the sound of rushing water that pervades. The host has included accessories indoors and out to support your enjoyment with board games and a disc golf course. The tiny home offers the basic comforts to the traveler, much expanded by the outdoor shower and tub patio, a hot tub, outdoor seating and cooking spots. These comforts and the scale of the outdoor space and creek frontage remind you to do more living outside.Back at home, I continue to dwell on Deer Creek Ranch. What would I do there next time? Bring a guest, binoculars, a flashlight, and make use of the outdoor fire pit!
