The entire stay was a nightmare. A bit important was the fact the step up into the living room and the step up or down to enter the bedroom and the office was not, if I remember correctly, emphasized in the description of th rental. This may seem insignificant but for old timers (I'm one) I would have liked to know it was something we would encounter.Then there is the issue of overloading the power: We were advised not to run the heater/dryer/etc. at the same time because it was an old house and its wiring may not be able to handle it all. If we lost power, we were instructed to contact the owners to fix it. Well, not due to anything we did, the cottage lost power due to the power company doing some sort of work and they forgot to turn the power back on (this after eight or so hours of no power, which caused us to discard 10 worth of food in the refrigerator).So after not having power that initial time, we were reluctant to use anything that might use too much power, such as a heater, so one night we spent a rather chilly evening in the bedroom.The owners responded nicely but in a word: NIGHTMARE. The cost vs. the trouble was unbearable.
