'They don't have a car park but there is a pay and display not far away. They don't do breakfast.'

'A comfortable stay. Stayed here before and I can recommend this place. '

'We have stayed here three times now & love the friendly homely atmosphere. The apartment is perfect for me & my son and he loves the swimming pool! The gym has plenty of equipment & my treadmill faces a field of cows & the odd pig which was lovely! Will definitely be staying again'

'I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.'

'Prima hotel met zeer ruime kamers. Niet het nieuwste van het nieuwste maar prima geschikt voor 3 of meer dagen. In deze kamer wel een oud springveren matras en wiebelig bed. uitstekend restaurant, prima service en ruim assortiment bier aan de bar. Top verblijf in de buurt van het Lakedistrict. binnenplaats met ruime parkeer gelegenheid ook voor de motor.(Wifi kan beter, slecht ontvangst in de kamer)'

'Well positioned in Cockermouth. Stairs upto bed rooms may be challenging for some guests. Easy parking, well stocked bar, pleasant communal rooms and garden. Best part of this hotel by far is the very welcoming friendly staff and superb breakfast.'

'Armathwaite Hall is primarily a spa, which detracts from the atmosphere of the Castle/ Hall. The Indian restaurant in the Castle doesn't make things any better.'

Excellent pool,sauna/steam room with a large jacuzzi....very clean throughout.Staff were very welcoming, and very helpful....Katie was lovely at reception and Paul served a great pint of guinness! Definately will return.'

'Our stay was absolutely amazing! The spacious, clean, and refurbished room with a super comfortable bed was just what we needed. The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 🤩✨'

'This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed. The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell. But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.'

'Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. 'On arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine biscuits and a bottle of milk which was a lovely touch. It is a lovely place to stay and would have no problem booking again.'
