I have stayed here several times. Now they are part of trade winds. Over 1/2 of hotel is under construction, lots of debris everywhere, we were allowed to use drumfish amenities. Amd now that they are part of trade winds , they charge a resort fee Mine was $110. On top of the higher rates. I will NOT be back.

This resort is in the midst of a renovation and still has some kinks to work out. Plus, we kept having to dodge workers. There are not enough elevators, they are very slow and hot, the one in our building was quite dirty and run down, and the housekeeping and renovation staff also have to use them and can override you calling them. The housekeeping setup is very inefficient. Sometimes 3 people would come in and out of our room while we were trying to get dressed. Towels would come later. We ran out of toilet paper and there was never shampoo in the shower. One day the garbage wasn't empty. There was never a day that every housekeeping task was completed. The amenities my grandchildren used, such as the slide and wave runner were fun and it was nice that they were included. The beach is fantastic. But there was no shower at our building so that we could wash the sand off our feet before we went into our room. None of the pools have a shallow end that is shallow enough for any children under the age of 12 or 13. The wifi went down my second to last day and never came back up. When I called the front desk they said it was down in the entire building and they didn't know why and then hung up. The kitchen was not adequate for my needs. There was no oven and not enough pots, pans, or especially, utensils. Having the stove top 2 inches from the sink was also a little iffy.

What a disappointment, mediocre room at best for $500, this place is under construction and the rooms are so outdated. Layout of the property is not ideal and did not even feel like we were on a beach property. Associate during check-in told bad joke after bad joke. $15 parking on top of it all. Would never stay here again.

Wasn’t told the property was under construction. Very noisy. Despite having the trade winds logo freshly painted on the building under construction, our children weren’t allowed to use the tradewinds amenities after being told beforehand otherwise. The room smelled moldy. Rented two cabanas on the beach but was charged double because we were at the Alden instead of tradewinds.

The rooms are very clean for being totally outdated. Mattresses and pillows are comfortable. The exterior is outdated and rundown. Overall, I would recommend this property just don’t expect anything fancy.

They were undergoing a major redo and it wasnt made avalabile when booking. Usually hotel let you know, in advance we planned on using grills but they were blocked off with danger signs

The only bonus to this property was the ablity to walk to the beach. The room wasnt that bad but we had a leak in the bathroom that was making the carpet wet in the living area.

I checked in around 4 pm and what a surprise. The front desk told me it is my lucky day and they have decided to upgrade me to a cottage type instead of the standard that I had booked. Also on the day of departure I requested for an extension and they obliged for 2 more hours. Very good location to everything that you need on a beach. All walking distance.

I travel to St. Petes every year and the Alden Suites Resorts is where I have stayed every time... for the last 13 years! Two pools and a jacuzzi. Suites pretty much have a full kitchen...stovetop, microwave. Full fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and kitchenware. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Onsite laundry too.

We have been going here for over 10 years. We have enjoyed the mom and pop part of it. We had no idea it was under construction so the extra noises were not pleasant sounds on a much needed peaceful getaways. Hoping that the new owners don’t take all of the quaintness away from staying here in the future.

The rooms are outdated, but you clearly know that when you book. Our housekeepers were phenomenal and we always had what we needed. Our room was a little far away from the “pool view” but it was fine. Great hotel for the price. The 2 queen beds were very comfortable, but the pullout couch was less than desirable for my other 2 kids. It was walkable to many restaurants and if not the Free Beach Ride or Free Bee golf cart rides were excellent as well for our family of 6 to get around. The beach is awesome. The cabana bar was great - just wished they had live music during the day and a restaurant on site. But we loved it.

Beach front room was booked several months ago but changed to pool side—based on renovations that were happening when we were there, I feel like they baited me to book then switched the room when I got there…cement work was being done on the stairs! If they thought it was going to be done, how would they had rooms available at Spring Break time!!?!!

We love this location as it is right on the beach. The property is well maintained and the staff has always been great. Our only disappointment this time was that we had booked and oceanfront room and that building ended up being under renovation. The offered us a nice gift card upon our arrival to be used at many of the Tradewinds restaurants. We appreciated the gift but would have appreciated the transparency up front that the facility was undergoing renovations. That said, we would certainly return!

We were sent to the resort next door because Alden Suites had been sold to the resort next door (Tradewinds) and was being renovated and the room/bldg we were booked into was closed - we didn't find this out until we arrived. The substitution was not as large as what we paid for to Hotels.com and had no balcony/patio either so the total from the new location was almost $400 less than what we had already paid to hotels.com. So I now have to deal with hotels.com to ask for a refund of the difference. Staff were very nice though and tried to be accommodating.

Bait and switch scam. We paid extra for a beach view room. Instead we were given a room near the street overlooking a parking lot. They said the beach rooms were being remodeled, but they should have notified us of this problem long before our arrival. Instead of refunding the difference between the room we paid for and the room we got, the hotel gave us a gift card for $200 that could only be used at the bar next door, which had limited options. We tried to use up all the money but we only managed to spend $170. The property was fine but the hotel is running a scam.

overall it was just what we were looking for , a full kitchen , 2 queen beds , nice staff and clean . everything was a bit dated and they were constantly working on the property (painting ,landscaping) which is a good thing once things get complete . i would stay here again and my wife and i stayed with 3 small kids .

Our flight was canceled due to mechanical problems and we had to drive all the way back home late at night so we were tired and did not call the property. The next day I will let them know that we could not make it because they refund us that room rate and they refuse since we didn’t call. Our room smelled like mold and it was very musty. It was clean but we could not get rid of the smell. It was close to the beach so we spent most of our time outside due to the smell of the room.

Property is currently under construction which is great because it needs updating. The rooms are very large and have everything needed for a family. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. The pools are warm and the grounds are beautiful.

Great rooms & beautiful location!
This is my second stay. Love the location. The rooms are spacious, comfortable one bedroom, two queen beds, kitchen, and living room with sleep sofa. The resort is quiet, 2 large pools, and great hot tub. My only wish is that the there were food options. The gift shop wasn’t open for east conveniences like paper towel, which the room did not have. Overall fantastic room, friendly staff, clean & comfortable. Definitely would recommend & stay again!!
