The Hideaway bij Swansea - absolute strand

De Hideaway is een unieke, afgelegen accommodatie aan het strand zitten op een rotsachtige bluf in de historische township van Swansea aan de prachtige oostkust van Tasmanië. Hoor de golven op het strand beneden. Betoverd worden door de 180 ° uitzicht over Oyster Bay, Freycinet schiereiland en Schouten Island. Voel de zeewind. Loop direct op het zand waar je 9 mijl van het strand klaar om te verkennen. Relax, inhalen, te genieten.

Het avontuur wacht

Swansea is ideaal gelegen om je basis voor het verkennen van de Tasmaanse oostkust geworden. Het is minder dan 2 uur zowel Launceston en Hobart. Het is 45 minuten rijden naar Freycinet National Park of naar de veerboot naar Maria Island National Park. Swansea is bekend voor varen, kajakken en vissen. Piermont Restaurant is een multi bekroonde locatie 5 minuten ten zuiden van Swansea. De Barkmill Tarvern is een geweldige familie restaurant en beschikt over een bakkerij en een museum.
De East Coast is een premium groeiende regio voor koele klimaatwijnen met de buurt van Milton, Springvale, Gala en Freycinet Vineyard.

Lovely property, very clean with fantastic views over Oyster Bay from most of the rooms. Walking distance to town. Open fire was cosy (we visited in June) backed up up by the split system that provided enough warmth. Entry is a bit difficult to find as google sends you around the corner & as others have noted not a property for those with major mobility issues due to steps/steep driveway.

I wanted to take my husband and elderly parents away for a few days as these last few months medical issues have hit our family. The beds are super comfy, the lounges are very comfortable and the kitchen fully equiped and a few things in the pantry and fridge were much appreciated. A wonderful spot to watch the ocean and so so quiet. We got the key and got to the front porch which is quit narrow and has a table and chairs on it. It felt a bit unsafe. My dad who is 89 shuffled sideways past the table and chairs with no room for error and mum who is 87 just had a hip replacement which made it difficult. Once we got inside we checked out the back door and realised there is a quite level access to there. The key is for the front door, so maybe consider rekeying it so you can access by the back door or maybe consider a railing that wont interfere with the view. Overall it was a wonderful stay, in a beautiful spot and we would have no worries about returning at all.

The property is a wonderful experience! It is quietly secluded and spotless throughout with magnificent views. There is a path to the beach where the surrounding scenery is just beautiful. If you want to relax, unwind this is the place to visit. We loved e everything about The Hideaway!

Perfect place for a relaxing stay after completing Three Capes Track. We loved the location and views over the water, the private access to the beach, the set up of the house and views from all areas. Thanks for a wonderful place to enjoy and share with our NZ family.

This is our third stay at The Hideaway...everything about this place is amazing. The location...so close to the beach...incredible panoramic views from the abundance of windows...big fireplace...beautiful linen and cosy beds. Love the Vintage beach shack vibe and simple furnishings. A house to feel comfortable in and relax. Thank you to the host Andrew, for sharing this wonderful house.

We loved our stay at The Hideaway. It’s a bit quirky BUT the view is just wonderful day and night. Concealed beautifully amongst the trees with a path leading down to the beach. The BEST FIREPLACE EVER. Worked like a dream. Kitchen well equipped and not far from the action in Swansea. Lovely beach walks around Great Oyster Bay. Really enjoyed our week at The Hideaway

This is our second stay at The Hideaway. There's a good reason fo that...it's THE best accomodation in every way. There are mind blowing panoramic views from the abundance of windows in this beautiful vintage house. A minute walk to the beach and with all the charm of a 'shack' though next level comfort. Love everything about this place, they are very lucky owners because I'd live there permanently in a heartbeat! Thank you again for sharing this beautiful space and we look forward to returning.

Great place to stay, and reasonably priced. All comfortable amenities and spectacular views were as advertised. Very warm and cozy inside, as we watched the ocean crash on the shore outside - on some cold October nights! Easy access to all East and South East coast attractions. Anyone interested in visiting the Freycinet coast should consider this property.

Peaceful, gorgeous secluded location even though close to town. Very clean and well presented. Beautiful rooms. Wake up every morning to see the sunrise over the beach directly from bed. Kitchen had everything we needed including basic pantry items. Laundry much appreciated. Very short walk to town either on road or via beach. Highly recommended weekend (or longer) get away from the cities.

Loved our stay. Simply stunning views and the house has all that you need. Looked like a new kitchen and two new bathrooms. The ocean view is so glorious I could stay there forever! Shops are close by and really nice meals at the local tavern. Hope to return one day.

The photos don’t do it justice. The views are breathtaking. The house is so secluded it’s a bit tricky to find from the odd numbers in the street - just keep going around the bends. It was a delightful surprise to find 2 bathrooms when only advertised as one. Even when it was raining and overcast we lit the fire and enjoyed the waves crashing below and a huge rainbow. Amazing sunset. Thank you

The Hideaway was just that ! A lovely cottage hidden away from other properties with lovely beach views of a secluded Sandy beach. A great location for exploring Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay. The cottage was more than comfortable for our group of 4 adults. Everything was clean and tidy. I would definitely stay again if we were visiting the area again.

Very comfy beds. New kitchen and bathroom appreciated though kitchen needed a few extra things (ie drinking tumblers). Open fire lovely when the evening temperature dropped.
