Nice stay. Quiet, clean & safe. The only issue was our late checkout wasn’t passed on to the cleaners who barged into the room twice & complained to the front desk lady who was then calling for us to leave.

Our flight to Melbourne was cancelled, so we looked for an inexpensive hotel in the suburbs. This is more of a motel, with small rooms. They did have laundry though and the bed was quite comfortable despite the small room. A bus stop was nearby and allowed us to travel over to Burwood for great food. Not bad for the price if you're in a pinch.

Dirty rooms, sheets had what looked like blood on them. Rooms smelled like cigarette smoke, Traffic noise. Additional charges to park a vehicle. Terrible service. I don’t think the cockroaches would even live here for free.

We take all guest feedback seriously as it helps us identify areas for improvement.We are deeply sorry to hear about the cleanliness issues you experienced in your room, as well as the condition of the sheets. This is not the standard we strive to uphold, and we assure you that we are investigating and addressing these concerns with our housekeeping team to prevent similar incidents in the future.Regarding the smell of cigarette smoke from outside the building, we understand how unpleasant this can be for non-smoking guests, and we do take steps to enforce our non-smoking policy more diligently. In regards to traffic noise you can always request for a quiet room facing away from the highway – subject to availability. Unfortunately, we do try our best to reduce noise from the highway as much as possible, however, as we are located right next to a major highway in NSW some road noises are beyond our control. If you see our parking policy which is both available online and clearly visible at the hotel reception. Car parking is free of charge for standard sized vehicles (one parking space per room). Parking fees apply for guests needing more than one parking space, such as (but not limited to) vehicles with trailers, buses, or trucks. Cockroaches are a banned guest at the hotel, they do try to squat on the property when weather gets warm and humid, however, our pest control measures are always reinforced with regular pest control services.Please accept our sincere apologies for falling short of your expectations. When reserving a room at any accommodation I suggest you always have a read through the hotel and your reservations policy, especially in regards to parking when your staff are driving three 16 tonnes trucks and are planning to park in a standard sized parking space for passenger vehicles. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to address these issues.

Thanks you for having reasonable prices and welcoming pets. We also loved your free parking area. Great access and easy to find. The breakfast area was very welcoming and convenient as well. The only part of our stay that we ask your team to improve on is the cleanliness of the rooms. We would recommend your hotel and yes we would stay again. Thanks

Dear Arena Hotel Management, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the conditions of the Room 118 during my recent stay at Arena Hotel, from 16/09/23-17/09/23. I have attached pictures to this email to provide a visual representation of the issues I encountered. To say that I was appalled by the state of the room would be an understatement. The pictures will illustrate the following major issues: Hygiene: The room was not properly cleaned. I found empty bottles, a disused curdled milk bottle, and the bathroom was particularly unclean, with visible stains and grime. Maintenance: Several items in the room were in a state of disrepair. The shower curtain was mouldy and brown, the carpets were filthy and stained with cigarette burns in places, and the furniture showed signs of wear and tear. Safety Concerns: Some of the electrical outlets appeared to be outdated were loose. This is a serious safety hazard that should not be overlooked. Unpleasant Odors: The room had an unpleasant, musty odor that persisted throughout my stay. I must emphasize that this experience was far from what I expected from my stay, and not only marred my trip but also left a lasting negative impression. I believe that the quality of service your establishment is not indicative of your usual standards. I kindly request that you investigate this matter promptly and take the necessary actions to rectify these issues. Regards, Jeannie Smith

This is the best hotel anyone can stay. We had such an amazing experience by just walking in. Staff are really nice and friendly. Cleaning staff are so sweet. Room is the best. We got two rooms. The smell is beautiful as you walk into the building. I recommend you to stay here. As we’re staying long term. They offered us cheaper deals. Overall everyone is so nice and kind.

Our housekeeping team is responsible for cleaning all rooms & reporting the conditions of the room after checking out - any damages that may have occurred during a guests stay. Unfortunately, customers do tend to show frustration & aggression towards staff when they are informed about paying for damaged hotel property. While we always try to meet at a common ground with guests, we do not tolerate guest misconduct & aggression towards staff at the hotel. Depending on the breach in hotel policy & the severity of the issue, a guest maybe banned from making any future reservations. We do have rooms that are facing away from the highway, these rooms are much quieter & can be allocated to your reservation if a guest makes a request & that there is room availability. The shower had mould in the grout, one of the shower taps had no retaining nut on the handle and the fridge had a bad odour in it and not even turned on. Bit disappointed not worth the $250 price.

Hotel was dirty - got my clean clothes soiled when I put them on the shelf. Metal chairs in small room very uncomfortable. Lift non-existent or doesn't work. Had to trudge up and down 3 flights of stairs every trip. Staff rude, breakfast not available as advertised. Far away from public transportation. Will not go back.

Hi Lawrence, Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback. I'm sorry to hear the rooms weren't up to the standard you've come to expect from us. This has been addressed this with our housekeeping staff to ensure this won't happen again.We do not have a lift at the hotel. Guests are able to request for a room on a lower level, we do try our best to accommodate for it. Unfortunately, when the hotel is fully booked out, re-allocation of rooms can not be garaunteed as all rooms have been reserved. The continental breakfast is served in the breakfast lounge from 7am till 10am, everyday, without a single day missed. The closest bus stop is just around the corner, approximately a 3 minute walk. This bus (M90) would take you to Strathfield Train Station in 20min, where then you'll be able to transit anywhere in sydney. Hope this answers your concerns.
