Oproep aan alle wandelaars, motorrijders en langlaufers ... dit is diegene voor u! De locatie wordt niet beter. De achtertuin van Trailside Escape biedt toegang tot de weiden van het Nordic Center van Tahoe City. Avontuur is letterlijk voor de deur!
Het huis zelf is een ideale combinatie van vorm en functie. Ga op het lagere niveau dat alle 3 de slaapkamers bevat. Twee slaapkamers, een met een koningin en een met een tweeling plus een set van twee stapelbedden, delen een badkamer voor de gasten in de hal. De ruime hoofdslaapkamer heeft een inloopkast, een eigen badkamer met een bubbelbad en een aparte douche en een glazen schuifdeur naar de achtertuin.
Boven, geniet van de open grote kamer met keuken, eethoek (tafel stoelen 8), en een woonkamer met grote bank, open haard en een halve badkamer. Franse deuren leiden naar een gezellige en goed uitgeruste familiekamer met een speeltafel, een bar, een flatscreen-tv en een gashaard. Voor grotere groepen (maximale totale bezetting is 9), biedt de familiekamer ook een luxe queensize slaapbank en een complete badkamer.
Net buiten de woonkamer boven, een ruim terras met gas grill (zomer) en een tafel om buiten te dineren kijkt uit over de rustige weide achter het huis. Op het lagere niveau wacht een luxe bubbelbad. Tafeltennistafel ook voor gasten
De gemeenschap bekend als The Highlands ligt op slechts twee mijl ten oosten van het centrum van Tahoe City. Deze rustige woonwijk biedt een serene omgeving en een prachtig uitzicht op de weilanden, maar ligt op slechts vijf minuten rijden van de vele restaurants, winkels en recreatie in Tahoe City.
Het Skylandia State Park en het strand liggen op slechts 1,6 km van de basis van de Highlands. Het zandstrand heeft een pier en zwemgedeelte. Hoewel het strand zelf niet huisdiervriendelijk is, zijn honden welkom in het park. Skylandia Park biedt barbecues en picknickplaatsen, wandel- en fietspaden en een prachtig uitzicht op het meer.
Tijdens het skiseizoen is het slechts 15-20 minuten naar Squaw Valley en Alpine Meadows, twee van de beste Tahoe-skigebieden. Een enkel liftticket biedt toegang tot beide resorts en de Squaw / Alpine Express biedt elke 20-30 minuten tussen bergvervoer. Vijf andere geweldige skigebieden in North Tahoe zijn ook vlakbij.

Overall this is a lovely property. All of the bedrooms are downstairs and stay relatively cool, although there is a bit of a basement feel to the downstairs. For us, the best part of the house was the view from the upstairs deck and spending time on the deck in the mornings and evenings when it was cool. While the back yard is somewhat fenced in, the fence doesn't come all the way to the side of the house, so there is no way to let your dog out in the back yard and know that she can't just walk around the side of the house to the street. That was disappointing. Also, the house was advertised as having a dishwasher and when we arrived a sign on the dishwasher said it was out of service. Handwashing piles of dishes every day while on vacation, when I am used to having a dishwasher at home, was a BIG bummer. Parts of the house have been updated and parts haven't, (i.e. no baseboards and painting needed, carpet in bathrooms), but again, overall, it was a lovely home, and the management company was very friendly all along the way. Also a nice quiet neighborhood and when in the backyard, you can't really see any nearby neighbors. I would stay here again, after making sure the dishwasher worked. :)

We stayed at this house in the summer, and found it enjoyable. The location is great, and near bike and walking trails. It is close enough to Tahoe City to pop in and get what you need, but far enough away to be in a relaxing and quiet neighborhood. The house is well stocked with cooking gear (although a little beat-up, as you'd expect from a Tahoe rental). Good grill outside, and a large kitchen for preparing meals for everyone without bumping into each other the whole time. Lots of space in the house for relaxing and hanging out, especially in the TV area with couches, a table, and bar space. All three bedrooms are downstairs and close to each other, and the "kids room" is good for families that need enough beds. The management group was very responsive to messages, and check-in/out process was straightforward.

The house was as described and perfect for our group. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked several meals. Overall, the house had everything we needed and was conveniently located to downtown Tahoe City. Like most houses in the area, there is no central AC, but that was not an issue due to the cool nights and abundant fans. Even with above average temps, we were cool and comfortable. Communication with Hauserman Rental Group staff was excellent prior to and during our stay. We didn't have any issues during stay which resulted in a need to contact them, but I am confident we would have had an immediate response. We would definitely stay again.

Had a great time with friends and skiing tahoe, we weren’t into the cross country skiing but it is right outside the back door and enjoyed watching all the people. Everything in the house worked well and the open space upstairs provided the perfect place to entertain and enjoy everyone’s company. Only thing I would suggest is adding an extra key for the house. We only had one and was tough at times when the group wanted to do different things.

Was looking to hike right outside my door with my dog and you couldn’t beat this cross country ski/bike/hike location. Plenty of room, wonderful deck, hot tub and ping pong. I (wish I) could live here during the hot east Bay Area summers

Thr trailside escape was the perfect location for our family vacation and first time enjoying Lake Tahoe in the summertime. It was a cozy home that provided all the space we needed to relax, gather, eat, play and rest. Definitely took advantage of the deck and bbq to cool down and cook meals, the dining table sat our group comfortably, and the game room is stocked with movies and games. Great location, easy access to the city for groceries and drive out to the beaches.

We stayed over the 2021 Christmas Holiday which brought exceptional snow to the area. The house was warm and cozy when we got there with plenty of room for everyone. It's a short drive to get supplies in Tahoe City. The management company was very understanding and cooperative when the whole region got snowed in and made the slight extension to our vacation easy. Next time I'll pack snowshoes as there's a XC/snowshoe trail literally right in the backyard. The kitchen is roomy and was equipped well enough to cook Christmas dinner for 5.

We were there for memorial and needed a place that would offer space, sanctuary, and solitude - but that would accommodate family coming from different states and so location would have to be close to where we would all gather at memorial (at Commons Beach). This home was perfect. You are in a neighborhood close to main stuff and minutes from beach, but it feels like you are isolated from touristy part of town and neighborhood is so quiet. We especially appreciated private driveway and garage. LOVED coming in from travel to a CLEAN, WELL-CARED FOR home. Fantastic & spotless kitchen layout, though cupboards & drawers could use some organization of pots & pans and utensils. Nevertheless, there was definitely everything needed to prepare meals, just had to dig around a bit. Also, everything you need to come in and get started on your Tahoe time - clear instructions for everything, starter stuff for bathrooms, laundry, home entertainment. On the spot communication from property management, everything is done to make it easy for you. You absolutely will love this place - we were just all so sad due to the circumstances that we could not make use of everything offered. But when we return to Tahoe, we are only staying here. Five stars everything.

The photos did not do this property justice, it was great! The house was huge, and there were 4 adults, 2 kids, and two dogs. The backyard was big enough for all of us to build a hill to sled down, so we didn't need to go out anywhere, but the location was still close to everything. The house was clean and had large windows out to the back yard which was an added bonus. We can't wait to go back.

BIKE TO MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILHEAD!!! This property is super close to Tahoe XC which is free to mountain bikers in the Summer months. Hours of trails kept us busy for two days. Great, quiet neighborhood. Awesome deck with a grill and a fully stocked kitchen. We loved it!

Had a great time at this property. The trail in the back was great with some good photo ops along the way. Close to stores and the lake. Kitchen and living spaces are huge. It’s a shame there is so much creaking on the 2nd story since bedrooms are on the first floor. Plus side is that the bedrooms keep very cool being on the first floor.
