De ruime zit / eetkamer met sierlijke open haard en traditionele meubels leidt naar het ovale terras. Pijnbomen omringen het terras met een werkende stenen lettertype - de ideale setting voor een aperitief 's avonds kijken naar de vlammende Etna-vulkaan en diner op die zwoele avonden. De slaapkamers zijn allemaal eenvoudig maar comfortabel en kleurrijk ingericht met luiken die uitkomen op de voortuin. Als alternatief, wanneer de Siciliaanse zon te aanmatigend wordt, kan men afkoelen in het grote zwembad achter het huis. Palm-, avocado- en olijfbomen rondom het zwembad bieden wat schaduw over delen van het terras waar weer een prachtig uitzicht op de zee en de Etna kan worden gewaardeerd. Wij geloven dat liefhebbers van Sicilië en ook degenen die nog niet bekend zijn met de vele fascinaties van dit eiland, de gelegenheid zullen waarderen om in dit traditionele klassieke huis te verblijven met zo'n gemakkelijke toegang tot zoveel populaire bestemmingen.

Everything was enjoyable about this remarkable old Sicilian casina which was evocative of the Italy that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Our property manager, Alessio, made sure that questions or special requests were immediately and cheerly answered. Despite chilly rainy weather we used the villa as a departure point for the wide variety of destinations, restaurants, and historical sites throughout the region, including Etna, which smiles down on it from on high. A very special and unexpected surprise was a visit to the Giardini Victoria which Valeria’s sister Victoria has created on the property to preserve and celebrate the region’s spectacular agricultural and natural flora. The orange, lemon and grapefruit orchards were just beginning to bloom. One can only imagine the perfume they will be creating in the next few weeks! This may not be the best choice for those who are not familiar with Italy’s quirks and customs, but for those who are a special experience awaits!

L’attenzione d’Alessio è stata meravigliosa, e stato molto accomodante e gentile ci a anche fatto la spesa il primo giorno e era sempre presto a rispondere alle nostre domande. Ci ha organizzato una bella passegiata in barca. La casa ha uno stile classico elegante e il giardino e piscina sono molto piacevole. La cucina è piccola ma non manca niente. Non è facile arrivare alla casa ne trovarla neanche col Waze e sarebbe buono avere una doccia in ogni bagno. Grazie per tutto Alessio!

Einzigartige Villa in wunderschöner Lage

Das Haus ist liebevoll und detailreich renoviert, die Lage in der Obstplantage mit Blick auf den Ätna sicher einzigartig. Wir hatten genug Platz für alle 9 Personen. We had a wonderful time here at the Villa. Valeria was a wonderful host, responsive to queries and always on hand if needed. The property itself was excellent and we loved spending time on the terrace and by the pool. We had a BBQ one evening and it was great sitting in the twilight eating outdoors both there and on the terrace. The rooms were lovely with the upper bedroom having a balcony and the lower rooms onto the front drive. The beach at Giardini Naxos is a 45 minute walk or 10 minute drive away both of which we did. the Best supermarket near by was the Deco, less than 10 minute drive away. it was a great place with which to explore Taormina, Etna and Syracuse, all of which we did. We would love at some point in the future. Highly recommend.

A unique and elegant property

This villa is old, authentic, and charming, decorated with lovely furnishings and family oil portraits, set on a large citrus farm about a mile from Trappitello, with spectacular views of Mt Etna from the large patio. A few steps from the house is a sparkling swimming pool, clean and well cared for like everything else on this property. The owner Valeria was welcoming, made sure we were comfortable, and gave us vegetables and fruit from the farm. She also recommended the services of Andrea and Natale Pagano, who reliably provided all the transportation we needed during our 11 day stay. It was such a pleasure to return the the cool and quiet of the villa after long days of touring Mt Etna, Syracusa, Taormina, and Naxos. I'm very happy that we chose this lovely villa for our stay in Sicily.

Wir waren mit 3 Paaren und 3 fast erwachsenen Kindern im Juli 2018 in diesem schönen Haus. Die Anfahrt war dank guter Beschreibung einfach, wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Das Haus ist wunderschön, die Zimmer verteilen sich auf 2 Etagen, so dass auch für die jenigen, die Ruhe möchten genügend Rüchzugsorte vorhanden sind. Die Zimmer und Bäder sind sauber und wurden innerhalb des Zeitraumes 2 mal gereinigt. Die Terrasse mit Blick auf den Ätna ist ein Highlight, der Pool sehr gut zum schwimmen und entspannen geeignet und sehr sauber. Wir waren bisher schon 5 mal in der Region in den Sommerferien - die Unterkunft hat uns am besten gefallen. Valeria (die Gastgeberin) spricht sehr gut Englisch und ist sehr hilfsbereit und zuverlässig. Weiteres Highlight: die Möglichkeit im Haus kochen zu lassen, die gebuchten Menüs waren überragend, besser als in allen Restaurants vor Ort. Kurzum: Traumurlaub - wir kommen gerne wieder!. PS: ein paar scharfe Messer für den Tomatensalat zwischendurch fehlen in der Küche - ansonsten fehlt es an nichts, vielen Dank.

Living like an Italian

Valeria, the owner could not have been more wonderful. The property was enchanting. I was traveling with my son, 2 grandchildren and my best friend and her husband, so the layout of bedrooms was perfect. If your group was all couples it might be chalanging because the first floor bedrooms consisted of 2 private rooms and 2 rooms which had to be walked through to get to the stairs. The Commen areas were wonderful, we imagined how wonderful it would have been to grow up there. We all rallied for coffee and breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, threw open the shutters to hear birds and look at an amazing vista. We would take our breakfast on the terrace with Mount Etna views (very relaxing). Sightseeing all day, and having one of the many incredible Italian dinners we retunied to gather in the salon for reviewing our days activities and an after dinner drink. On request Valeria arranged a home made meal for us one evening, which was lovely, very inexpensive, and an abundance of courses. It was wonderful coming home to the smells of pasta Norma cooking, one our favorite memories. I would suggest doing this early in your trip because of the amount of food for left overs. Both of my grandchildren were into photography, the house and property gave them an amazing canvas. I think the only negative were the linens, the towels and sheets needed to be kicked up a notch. Saying that we were not looking for anything too Americanized so we were ok with it. All in all we loved it! Thanks Valeria....

Lovely property, nicest host

The property is lovely and we really enjoyed the pool. While it is old, it is not run down. Valeria is lovely and a pleasure to deal with. She was responsive and quick to deal with minor issues. The location is wonderful and easy to get to Taormina or Catania or Siracusa or Noto. The terrazzo with views of Etna was great. Well equippedkitchen and modern reno on the bathrooms. Trapatello has all the amenities for buying food etc. Great restaurants within thirty minutes, usually fifteen. Highly recommend. Five bedrooms w large common areas.

Beautifull secret spot

Beautifull spot, we loved the pool and the terrace with view on the etna. the villa is big and cosy. Perfect location , quiet and et the same time only 15 min from taormina nicest beach and night life . Perfect for family . We really recommend this place!

charming traditional Sicily experience

We loved our stay here. The house is very traditional which was exactly what we wanted and as described. The terrace in particular was a delightful place to sit in the evenings especially as it was very very hot during our stay. Valeria was very helpful and sorted out small problems with air conditioning etc. We booked the cook on two nights and can't recommend enough - they produced two wonderful meals - well worth it and much better than eating out which was very pricey in August for 9 of us. If I was to suggest one improvement it would be better pillows. Not sure if my family is very fussy but all found them pretty uncomfortable! Lovely location - would have liked to walk more if it hadn't been so hot. Very convenient for beaches and Taormina. Thank you for great holiday!

A beautiful villa with the most amazing views and great swimmming pool

We were a group of family and friends, 7 in total with 4 of the group age 15-19, staying for a week in July. There was plenty of room for us all and the villa was well equipped for what we needed. There are shops and supermarkets quite nearby, but we ate out a lot as well. We booked the cooking service, available if you book with the owner in advance, which was amazing and very tasty (lots of it!). The owner was very helpful through the booking process and during our stay; thank you Valeria (and your mother). The pool is big and very clean with lots of space around it. The terrace was where we ate in the evening, with the most fantastic views of Mt Etna.

We were a family of six adults and two children staying in this wonderful villa. A swim in the magnificent pool was the perfect way to cool down in the hot Sicilian summer. This villa was very clean, well equipped and Peppino was very generous and helpful. Thank you Valeria for everything.

Falsely advertised as a 5 bedroom

We loved Etna and Taormina. The weather was awesome But the house is not what you see in the pictures. There is 1 master bedroom, all others are rooms in the basement that do not have separate entrances and are directly connected. This created a lot of awkward situations for our group, as we expected a full 5 bedroom - however people had to walk through each other's bedrooms to get out. Mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. Bathrooms do not have shower curtains, so you basically have to shower sitting down. Both lower floor bathrooms have no windows. The kitchen was also very old and had extremely low quality appliances (the dishwasher didn't work half of the time), utensils were super low quality - and there were no wine glasses. No wine glasses in Italy! For the price that's being asked you simply have to expect modern appliances, modern & comfortable beds and a properly equipped kitchen. We loved the pool and spent most of our time there, but it really limited what we were able to do. We were very excited for this property & vacation, however can't recommend. Valeria is a nice & responsive host (Whatsapp!) - however no english speaking host was on property to help, the Nanny for our child arrived smoking a cigarette and we would've loved to have someone there to help/explain/show us around.

A great place for a marvelous holiday

The villa is on a hillside with a secluded garden in a private estate and surrounded by fields and terraces of oranges. The pool area is great and we spent loads of time there. The house is spacious and delightful. Decorated tastefully in a shabby chic way. The bathrooms work but are functional rather than modern and having an evening barbecue on the spacious terrace with Mt Etna as backdrop is stunning. We used the cooking service twice and had good meals. I would definitely recommend this property. We were only 6 adults, if you were 10 it would be fine but the kitchen might be a bit busy and there would be some bathroom sharing but the sitting room and dining area and terrace are huge. As is the pool area. We had a marvelous time

Elegant traditional house, with lovely pool and magnificent view of Mount Etna and the sea.

The house is absolutely beautiful, with high ceilings and grand proportions, elegantly furnished. It is a charming historic country property, with all the quirks that entails, it's not the place if you are looking for 21st century contemporary luxury. We loved it, and would highly recommend it. The house was clean and tidy, the grounds well maintained.. There was plenty of hot water, and the swimming pool was beautiful. It's about a 10/20 minute drive from busy Taormina, so perfect for visiting, but lovely to come back to the peaceful oasis of the villa.
