Dit zeer speciale 4 BR vakantieappartement (127 m²) ligt in het historische centrum van Taormina en biedt een prachtig uitzicht, een groot dakterras en een parkeermogelijkheid. Het ligt in het rustige gedeelte van het historische centrum van Taormina en alles is op korte loopafstand te bereiken. In samenwerking met de Paradise Beach Club hebben onze gasten de mogelijkheid om in de Paradise Beach Club te verblijven en hun zwembad en strand te gebruiken.

Het appartement biedt een ruime woonkamer - eetkamer, een zeer aangenaam terras en verschillende balkons (met indrukwekkend uitzicht), twee badkamers en 4 slaapkamers plus een uitklapbare bank met eendenplank en 2 extra slaapbanken in de woonkamer, in totaal geschikt voor maximaal 8 gasten.

Airconditioning in drie slaapkamers en de woonkamer.

De keuken is volledig uitgerust en biedt alle keukengerei om te koken en dineren. Het heeft geen oven maar een magnetron.

De woonkamer is uitgerust met een extra uitklapbare bank, twee slaapbanken, een open haard, is licht en comfortabel ingericht met een prachtig, onvergetelijk uitzicht op de Middellandse zee en Mt. Etna.

Er is een flatscreen-tv met satellietzenders en gratis WiFi. Het appartement is voorzien van airconditioning en beddengoed en handdoeken worden verstrekt. Als u Taormina in de winter bezoekt, kunt u het appartement met de airconditioning aangenaam verwarmen en ook de open haard gebruiken.

Vanwege de speciale ligging biedt het appartement een uitzicht van 270 graden over de Golf van Taormina, de kust van Calabrië, de oude binnenstad van Taormina, de Etna en Castelmola. Het grote dakterras en de balkons zijn ingericht en nodigen u uit om te dineren met een onvergetelijk uitzicht op Taormina en de Middellandse Zee.

Het appartement is volledig gerenoveerd in 2017 en bevindt zich op de 5e verdieping (zonder lift) van een rustig appartementengebouw in de buurt van Corso Umberto (belangrijkste winkel- en restaurantgedeelte). U kunt het appartement direct met de auto bereiken en uw auto parkeren op de openbare parkeerplaats "Porta Catania" (7 minuten lopen)

PARKING

Parkeren in Taormina is alleen toegestaan voor bewoners. Dus als u met de auto komt, parkeert u uw park op de openbare parkeerplaats "Porta Catania" (€ 16/24 uur, 7 minuten lopen)

GEBRUIK VAN ZWEMBAD EN STRAND

In samenwerking met de Paradise Beach Club hebben onze gasten de mogelijkheid om in de Paradise Beach Club te verblijven. De toegangsprijs is afhankelijk van het seizoen (€ 10 - € 15 volwassene, € 5,00 - € 8,00 kind tussen 3 en 10 jaar) en is inclusief toegang tot het strand, ligstoel, parasol, gebruik van zwembad, douche, gratis WiFi en pendelbus.

De Paradise beach club is een van de beste lido's van Taormina en biedt een complete strandservice, een uitstekend restaurant aan het strand, een zwembad aan het strand en een heel speciaal klein mediterraan park om te ontspannen en af te koelen tijdens de hete middag.

Aangezien het stadspenthouse zich in het historische centrum van Taormina bevindt, brengt hun gratis pendelbus je naar de Paradise Beach Club. De bushalte ligt op slechts 4 - 6 minuten lopen afstand. Het duurt ongeveer 15 - 20 minuten met de bus om van het stadscentrum naar de Paradise Beach Club te komen.

Het zwembad en de strandclub zijn geopend van 1 juni tot 31 oktober (afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden). Houd er rekening mee dat het gebruik van de strandclub en het zwembad niet is inbegrepen in onze huurprijs en rechtstreeks aan de Paradise Beach Club moet worden betaald.


DE BUURT

Het appartement is gelegen in het historische centrum van Taormina. Het gebied is erg rustig, veilig en wordt beschouwd als een van de meest aangename woonwijken van Taormina.

Er is een supermarkt voor het appartement. De wekelijkse groene supermarktmarkt vindt elke woensdag plaats op het Piazza voor het gebouw. Elke andere winkeloptie is slechts een paar minuten lopen.

De bekende Corso Umberto van Taormina (5 minuten lopen), alle bezienswaardigheden, monumenten, bars en restaurants bevinden zich in de buurt van het appartement en kunnen op korte loopafstand worden bereikt.

Voor het appartement is er de bushalte van de shuttlebus (Linea Verde) die u naar het treinstation, het busstation en het strand Isola Bella brengt.

U hebt dus misschien zelfs geen auto nodig die in Taormina blijft en rondreist.

Voor mensen die van wandelen of fietsen houden is het appartement een prima uitgangspunt. Het wandelpad naar Castelmola (sentiero Saraceno) begint op slechts 200 meter van het appartement. Degenen die een fiets hebben, kunnen deze achterlaten in de garage van het appartement.

Alle bezienswaardigheden, restaurants, bars en het nachtleven liggen in de buurt, maar zonder enige overlast.

A lovely rooftop view, spacious, comfortable apartment. Clear, concise, communication with the host and her assistant who greeted us. When you rent, take a few extra minutes to learn how the locking system on the doors work. We managed, however did not really know how we unlocked them. I am certain a little training would have helped Wonderful place to stay!

Comfortable stay with beautiful views

While the location was a 10 to 15 minute walk from the center, it was easy to find our way. There are many stairs down to the center and many more back up to the apartment. Being on the top floor allowed for views, be prepared for carrying all luggage up multiple flights. Rooms are a bit smaller than they look, but the apartment is very well appointed.Michael was very responsive and very helpful in arranging rides to Giardini Naxos. We enjoyed our stay!

Apartment was lovely, as described in photos and description. As noted in description, there are a lot of stairs to climb to get the apartment and also in Taormina to get around. Fine for us, but be aware if not very mobile. Apartment was clean and we were very happy staying here. Owner was very responsive to messages, much appreciated.

Great space and location

We had a great stay at Mike’s place. The space is very nice, lots of room, very light and great views. It’s right across from a playground which our kid was at daily. Short 5 min walk down to the main strip. The only thing which others have mentioned is it is a penthouse and there’s no elevator so you do have to navigate 5 floors of stairs to the unit. We had no issues with this and it’s what give the great views. Great value and would definitely stay here again.!

It is so unfortunate to have to write this review, but we want to help make sure that others who are considering this property are duly warned. We were so looking forward our stay at Christmas, and were heartbroken to find this property is NOT 9.4 stars. We are trying hard to make this review objective and blamed, but it is very difficult due to the state it was in. There is black mold. Leaks. Broken windows. Broken door handles. Broken toilet flushers. Broken beds. Broken oven. Broken/poorly working water heater.There IS a lift - it just doesn’t work and hasn’t been repaired in years. It’s 5 flights of stairs to the top. In summer heat it would be terrible. Parking is a 25 minute walk uphill. If you have mobility or other health issues please take note. The owner did not respond to our concerns. The pictures in the listing are deceptive, so be careful. I strongly advise that renting based on the listing photos is at your own risk and suggest that you lower your expectations. You may have a very tough time getting remedy if your experience mirrors our own. I was partially refunded after complaining directly to VRBO (several times) with detailed photos and documentation. The host never responded to our direct communications. We were forced to move to a hotel in the middle of the night. There was no expression of concern or responsibility. No apology was received, and I fully expect a response to this review deflecting and finger pointing back at us, the hapless renters.

Simply Amazing!

Simply amazing experience! We stayed at Micheal’s apartment for almost a week. It was lovely. The apartment was clean and every room on the sea-view side had a balcony, including the bathroom! There was a full kitchen, and everything was in place. We had supper in the large terrace overseeing the sea and evening lights of the town. The tranquility… no one wanted to go back in. The area was also very conveniently located, walking distance of restaurants, shops, and grocery. The communication with Michael and his partner, Roberto was seamless. They were quick and knowledgeable on every question we asked. The promptness was very important to us as it lessen the stress just knowing what to do and where to go. 6 flights of stairs with no lift. Stairwell with no lights. 600 meters to center, but didn't say down alot more stairs and a steep hill. Now we had to go up again through the whole process again. The Views!

Spacious penthouse apartment very close to the center of town. The terrace was wonderful place to hang out and the views are fantastic. The place was well-equipped, beautiful and spacious. The five-story walk up didn't bother us -- the views and privacy were worth it. It was hard to locate the exact building, even for local taxi drivers, gps couldn't pinpoint the building. Check-in was a little difficult. The trash situation was very hard to figure out -- instructions and containers needed.

We had an excellent holiday - the property is central to restaurants shops and the chair lift to the beach. All communication with the property manager has been very good - always prompt with good recommendations. The view from the patio area is stunning. Taormina is relatively hilly though and there are steps to the apartment which you need to be prepared for but for us the views were worth it! Many thanks

Four of us stayed here and found the apartment has plenty of room for us. The apartment is a challenging walk uphill to get to and then another challenging walk up several flight stairs but all worth it for the amazing views of the sea on one side and mountains on the other. Great location with great views!

It was a super way to see and immerse ourselves in Taormina and even Castelmola. The flat was well equipped, functional and easy to live in. Given the drying conditions in Taormina it was quite easy to get to by car. Getting into the main part of town was an easy 5 minute walk down the hill. We also enjoyed the easy access to the path up to Castelmola (20 minutes) where we discovered some good places to eat while enjoying spectacular views of Taormina and Mount Etna.

5th floor apartment/no elevator - understood. NOT a short walk to city center as suggested - long walk up a steep incline to get to apt.. 2 of the bedrooms were very small. Roof terrace was great but other balconies were too small to use. Hope this helps.

Smaller then I thought...

The purpose of this review is to help the next traveler decide if this property is right for them. We had a good time in this apartment but it has its Pros/Cons: Pros: Excellent 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and balconies Fully functional 2 Bathrooms Excellent AC in almost every room Great views of the bay and mountains from the large open terrace Quite location away from the noise and crowds. Feels safe. Brand new working kitchen. Great communication with host, greetings upon arrival, taxi service recommendation etc Cons: The other 2 bedrooms are the size of a shoe box and only suitable for kids 15 or younger. If any adults from your party will have to sleep in one of those rooms, they will be very unhappy. Slope ceiling in the open DR/LR/ space is quite low and at one point going down to almost 4 feet, I hit my head a few times trying to get things out of the closet. Location: from Catania gates you need to walk up quite a bit of steep streets and stairs before you even get to the building and then again up the stairs to the top floor. Once you get there you are out of breath(I was) and need to take a shower. Parking is not easy to find. Would I stay there next time I am in Taormina-probably not. Will try to find something closer to main street without steep hike.

We wanted to spend some time experiencing Taormina and using it as a base to visit Etna and we were happy to find this apartment not too far from the town centre. It coincided with one of the hottest weeks this year so were glad of the air conditioning
