This is a beautifully decorated apartment within what used to be a hotel, only a stone's throw from the promenade and stunning views of Babbacombe Bay. The main room has high ceilings and is very tastefully designed with a stunning bed. The whole place was spotlessly clean, they must have a brilliant housekeeper. We were told it has only just been converted to self-catering accommodation so its a little low on equipment but it's manageable and they're happy to provide anything you need. Be warned the room gets uncomfortably hot at night and you have to run the fans all night to get a wink of sleep, which is a tad counter-productive if you need silence to sleep, like me. The heat at night is the only reason I lowered the value for money score because we really struggled with it. We were lucky enough to book last minute and get a discount, but if I had paid full price I would have been really cross about the lack of sleep. We were told its something to do with a cafe in the basement but not sure why its still generating heat through the night. There is no allocated parking but it never seemed a problem to wait on the double yellow line outside to load and unload but you need to be prepared to drive elsewhere in the town to find roadside parking and walk back to the accommodation if you go out each day as we did. We usually found somewhere within a quarter mile, sometimes less.
