Sorèze pine for the bedroom flooring, exposed stone and beams on the ground floor. It is in the former miller's house of the four mills of Montbel, now gone, that Marie-Célie, the owner, undertook four long years of renovations before opening this gîte. With a genuine passion for the local area, she offers you a comfortable family stay in a quiet residential neighborhood. Thanks to its proximity to the village, everything is within walking distance: shops, restaurants, the lake, etc. The Gîte Les Echaunes takes its name from the old neighborhood where Marie-Célie's parents lived; their family originated from the Drôme region. The photos will inspire you to discover this wonderful Lauragais region: Toulouse, 30km away, with its Place du Capitole; the gastronomy of the Southwest; and Caraman, with its swimming lake and market. The names of the rooms have also been carefully chosen: "Violettes de Toulouse," "Cocagne," "Souleilla," and "Canal du Midi" (an exceptional creation by Pierre-Paul Riquet, linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea), which is 20 km from the gîte. Revel-Lac-Saint-Ferréol is 23 km away: a designated "Grand Site Occitanie," a swimming lake, and a City of Art; and Carcassonne is 78 km away. The gîte is on two levels with a 300 m² unfenced garden and ample parking: - Ground floor: entrance - separate WC - fitted kitchen - living/dining room. - First floor: - "Souleilla" bedroom (1 double bed 160x200cm and 2 single beds 90x190cm on the mezzanine; please note the steep and narrow staircase, suitable only for independent children and agile adults) - "Canal du Midi" bedroom (1 double bed 140x190cm) each with its own shower room and private toilet. - "Violettes de Toulouse" Room (2 single beds 90x190cm, one of which is a pull-out bed available upon request). - "Cocagne" Room (1 double bed 160x200cm).
