'Het heeft vooral de sfeer van een ‘guesthouse’, omdat het volledig gerund wordt door een uiterst aardig echtpaar, dat je ‘s morgens een prima ontbijt serveert en je op elk gewenst moment te woord zal staan. Heel anders dan een hotel met aardig maar afstandelijk personeel. De Lodge zelf is op leeftijd, dus verwacht geen hypermodern comfort.'

'Fantastische pub/hotel/restaurant. Personeel uiterst vriendelijk en gemoedelijke sfeer. Slaapkamer moeilijk/ geen verduistering. Daardoor erg vroeg veel licht in de kamer. Volgende keer gaan we zeker weer hierheen (Met oog/slaapmasker)'

'I was genuinely surprised to find a hotel this good for the price. The place was very clean, the staff were both professional and friendly, and breakfast was included, I really can't complain. Excellent value for money, and I will definitely be returning.'

'The low cost was the main attraction. It is literally a room in someones house but we were made very welcome. Be prepared to take off your shoes on entry. I had been traveling for many hours so my feet were nit quits fresh. The bed is very comfortable. The pool and spa is 1.5 miles away in a leisure centre so we didn’t bother'

'easy access, lovely spacious room, good central location & ample secure parking. Only grumble was that we left windows open and there was a lot of traffic noise in the morning - should have used the fan (provided) instead, so our mistake. Plus, some of the UHT milks and decaf coffee sachets provided were out of date. Overall however, would definitely stay there again'

'Exceeded my expectations, beautiful house and room (Harry) clean, bright, and spacious with very pretty furniture. The bed was super comfortable, slept wonderfully. The street is busy, with cars and people using it all night, nothing loud, just enough background noise to put you to sleep. The other guests were very quiet, only heard a family coming in at 9 and another one leaving at 7:30. Super location, 10 minutes walk from the castle and with a parking lot 50 yards away. 'Great place to stay if you'd like to have kitchen access. Fridge, Kettle, Cups, Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk provided. Bed was VERY comfortable. Bedding all clean. TV is streaming only - no regular TV channels. Could adjust the room temperature via the radiator dial. The shower is in the room, not in a separate bathroom. It didn't bother me, but it's unusual. 'We loved our stay at the Canal Cottages. Our cottage was a detached studio room with its own private bathroom. The cottages do sit behind the main establishment. You can get an uber or bolt from this location if you would like to go explore the area around you or need to head back to the airport like we did. We took an uber to Windsor Castle from the cottages and it was about 25 minutes away from the cottages. Public transportation available but it is about a 15 minute to 20 minute walk...
