'This could be a great property. The ocean views are beautiful and the grounds are expansive. While our room looked nice on the surface, there were many things that needed attention and replacement. Bath towels were badly frayed and pool towels were no better. The AC struggled to cool the room with high ceilings. One wardrobe door didn't latch properly, and the staff used a folded piece of paper towel wedged between the door and its frame to keep it closed. The included breakfast had 5 or 6...

'Out of nowhere. Impossible to get a driver to take us out for dinner. Food was really bad. We were only one of two rooms booked, so that might be why they didn’t really into serving us well. Hotel was no help for a driver as well which was a bit frustrating. Nice pool though. Rooms were decent. '

'The rooms are always very clean, and the variation in the room sizes, number of rooms and room designs gives this resort is unique - old-world charm. I never feel I am in a hotel room - more like my own own little unit with balcony and seaside views. One of the nicest pools I've swam in. As usual, staff is very polite, accommodating. I pay the local fishermen $30 to take me to the 3 rocky islands not far from the beach, for snorkelling. Unfortunately, there is construction going on all along the...

'We stayed in the 2 bedroom Praia Maia for 3 nights. We had an amazing time in the villa which had everything we needed. Having breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the sea, hanging in the hammock reading a book, cooling down in our own infinity pool or taking a stroll down to the beach and going in for a snorkel. Couldn't have asked for anything more!'
