Heel mooi strandhotel met fijne kamers
Mooi, kleinschalig hotel, pal aan strand. Enkele kilometers van Unawatuna, maar met tuktuk ben je er zo. Schitterend uitzicht door balkon met glaswand. Rechts van het hotel zit een leuk restaurantje.

comfortabel hotel met prachtige ligging.
Heerlijk verblijf gehad. Prima service. Kwamen om 10 uur 's avonds aan, werden verwelkomd met een vers sapje en we konden ook nog iets te eten bestellen. Ontbijt is prima, altijd vers fruit, vers sap en eieren naar keuze en ook sri lankaans ontbijt als je dat wil. Kamers zijn mooi met super uitzicht . Het hotel ligt aan een schoon rustig strand met een tiental meters naar links een plek waar je goed kan zwemmen. De schildpadden dobberen recht voor het hotel in de zee. Echt super! Verder zijn ze heel behulpzaam met het regelen van transport. Het zwembad is niet al te groot maar is gewoon lekker om af te koelen. Het ligt binnen maar voelt alsof het buiten ligt omdat het helemaal open is met ook weer een prachtig uitzicht op de zee. Als je van een comfortabel hotel met een hoog service niveau houdt op een mooie, rustige plek met prachtig uitzicht dan is dit hotel een prima keuze. Met de tuk tuk ben je zo in galle of unawatuna.

This property is very run and not well maintained. The service is also very poor, both upon check in and when just trying to order a drink. Definitely in need of a revamp and change of management. The only positive is the location.

The Ocean view from the room is great, and the staff was courteous and friendly. Upon arrival they offer a welcome drink, and take your luggage to the room, and also helped our driver to turn the car around. The view from the room was beautiful, the room was nice and clean. I didn't have any air condition issue as read in past reviews, the staff showed me how to turn on AC if it stopped when open the glass doors.Room service staff was extremely nice waited until we are ready, also on the day of checkout they let rest of my party wait in the room undisturbed until I returned from whale watching. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and they had a bag of breakfast ready early morning on the day I left for whale watching. I only have good things to say and highly recommend Sayura beach hotel.

One of the worst experience ever
Over-rated hôtel. Food: Limited choices and low quality. Confort: Room is good but bathroom is disappointing. Pool is located in the reception area (max 3 meters between the reception and the pool). Security: during the weekend a group of 15 men completely drunk blocked the reception and the access to the beach. Note that alcohol was served by the hotel. Beach access: can’t swim in the hotel area because of rocks. You have to walk 60 meters to reach private beach where you have to pay. Overall service is ok but the rest (confort, food and pool/beach) really disappointing. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

This hotel is right on a very beautiful beach. Fine sand and a nice shallow protected area just adjacent to the hotel. Our room was large and had an excellent private ocean view balcony and i think all the rooms are on the ocean side. Clean, comfortable bed and pillows, decent TV with some good english channels. The price included a delicious buffet breakfast with lots of choices and an amazing ocean view. The restaurant is also pretty good for dinner and there are 3 or 4 other restaurants nearby with access from the beach. The only downside for us is that the road is narrow and very busy. There is no noticable road noise on the beach side or in the room but the road is not pleasant for walking. We rented a scooter from the hotel desk to get around in the area for a very low cost - but make sure you have an international motorbike licence because we were stopped by the police to check for license at least once a day.

Rooms were big and comfortable. Bathroom good but no hand towels or washers or soap given. Service was excellent but very little English spoken. Location on beach were you could swim with turtles was priceless. Views fantastic. Some repairs needed in rooms.

The hotel was built in 2016 to a high specification but sadly it has not been maintained as such. The rooms are large and the balconies have a lovely view. The linen is clean and the staff are lovely and welcoming as they are all over Sri Lanka. However sadly our stay was not as comfortable as it could have been because of issues such as poorly draining sinks in bathroom, broken lights in bedside lamps and balcony. We unfortunately had storm weather over our 3 day stay which meant we had to spend more time in the hotel than we would have ordinarily planned to do but we didn’t feel we could use the pool or relax in the lounge due to the awkward layout and general lack of upkeep. The breakfast buffet was a good standard with a large variety and the meals from the al a carte menu were tasty and generous in size. There was always a strong smell of cooking in the hallways and on our balcony as we were on the 3rd floor which could be off putting for some guests. I did hesitate to write this review as I believe the hotel may be a victim of the tourist slump which is evident all over Sri Lanka but I feel that there are a few things that could be rectified which would improve the stay for guests -1. checking all lights for functioning 2. Fixing plumbing 3. Repainting and repairing lounge and dining area. 4. The pool area could be cleaned which some more privacy from the road, 5. Improved seating in the lounge for comfort.

Location is a problem
This hotel has a problem with aggressive tuk tuk drivers and the staff is in on the price gouging. In Sri Lanka there is a local Uber service called 'Pickme'. When I checked out they asked if I need transportation. I told them, I'm waiting for my Pickme driver and they all disappeared. When I walked to the road a tuk driver asked if I needed a ride. I told him I'm waiting for my driver and things got very aggressive. He started threatening me and said the driver would not stop at this hotel for fear of assault. He was correct Pickme drivers know this hotel is running a scam and are afraid of the tuk drivers. I did meet my driver 100m down the road but it was not a pleasant experience. Do not support scams by staying at this hotel.

Property is on the beach. Out of lobby area one can walk on the beach. Rooms are big with big balcony overlooking the sea. It is like a private beach. Staff very helpful. They organized pick up and drop at slightly lesser rate. Driver Priyan was good driver and knowledgeable. Owner lives in the hotel and is very friendly. Hotel owns two tuk tuk which can be hired. Need to improve on bar and internet network.

It was a good hotel let down by a couple of small issues. The location was quite good for the beach. However, the wifi dropped out a lot for long periods, housekeeping probably needed some more training - at one point they removed two towels but only replaced one with the excuse they thought there was only one person in the room, abd it was hard to find anyone to take an order from when by the beach / pool. However these are things that can be fixed easily with a little training. Overall the rooms were very nice, the beach was quite good and the pool fantastic.

Tolles Strandhotel mit Wohlfühlfaktor! Wir waren vom ersten bis zum letzen Tag sehr begeistert von diesem Hotel! Vom Service bis zum Essen- es hat einfach alles gestimmt! Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und wurden jeden Tag gereinigt! Insgesamt war das Hotel sehr sauber! Genauso wie der dazugehörige Strand! Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich super!

A good hotel on the beach close to Galle
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights while in Galle for the England cricket match. The hotel was in a great location on Dalawella beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Galle and Unawatuna beach. It is a lovely small section of beach with a lagoon type area for swimming in the sea. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The food available at the hotel far exceeded our initial expectations, although the buffet breakfast is quite basic but with plenty choice. All round very happy with our stay.

The hotel is situated on the main road from Galle, so best to get tuk tuk to Galle and other places (including Unawatuna bay area) but the setting onto the ocean is wonderful and the road is not an issue. The hotel rooms are wonderful with ocean views and we loved watching turtles in the surf every morning.

Everything about the Hotel was great. Location, staff, cleanliness, food and comfort. If you like seeing turtles in the wild as we do, then this beach which the hotel is situated is the best. There is a lovely safe lagoon just 2 min walk along the beach for swimming as the sea is a bit choppy with a reef directly on the hotel beach. Its also a 5 min tuk tuk ride to Unawatuna (300 rps) where it is more lively and has a lot of eating places and shops. The hotel Wijaya which is 2 doors down from this hotel is a nice place to relax and have some food in the evening.

Excellent location with friendly staff
Great location , super friendly staff , a bit away from the main beach but has its own vibe . Reasonably priced and definitely worth it. Though wish in room food service was available 24/7 and breakfast could have been better with more variety.

Nice beach hotel - no internet
Fint og rolig hotel rett ved stranden. Det var uheldigvis ikke mulig å bade i havet rett utenfor hotellet grunnet sterk strøm. 50 meter fra hotellet var det mulig å bade, men til og med der kunne det være farlig på grunn av høye bølger. Rommene var veldig store og fine med en nydelig balkong med utsikt mot havet. Bassenget var litt stusselig og lå på en måte inne ved resepsjonen - vannet var også veldig kaldt siden det lå under tak. Av forbedringen så ønsker jeg at baren nede er litt mer tilgjengelig for gjestene. det var stort sett åpen men ingen som satt der for å ta imot bestillinger. Man måtte opp i restauranten for å finne bartenderen. Det var ikke så lett å bestille seg drikke når man lå ute og den stengte kl 15. En annen ting er at resepsjonistene burde ha litt mer kjennskap til lokalområdene - jeg spurte enkle spørsmål om turtlefarm og Galle uten at de ga meg noe svar. I tillegg så er det en plagsom tuk-tuk kjører som står utenfor hotellet til alle døgnets tider og nærmest trakasserer folk hvis de ikke tar tuk tuken hans. Hvis du tar den så prøver han å tvinge deg til å dra på 100 utflukter. Han tar ikke nei for et nei. Vi prøvde å unngå han men da ble han sur. Noen av de jeg var med gruet seg til å gå ut porten fordi han var så innpåsliten og aggressiv. Hotellet burde se til at han ikke ødelegger for gjestene. Det er for øvrig null internett på rommene. Du må sitte i resepsjonen.

Good rooms, lovely view.
Comfortable and relaxing. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with great view of the beach and turtles swimming.
