Strandhotels in Upcountry Maui

'When I checked into my first room there was a foul odor next to the window. I had to be moved to a different room because of this. Upon moving to the second room, it didn't have a phone like the first room. I also attempted to use the iron (which was old) that didn't get hot and leaked. I wanted to check out a day early but was unable to change my flight. Also, the pool was out of order. The property should have advertised this on their site as a disclaimer so perspective guests can decide...

'It was a strange set up but it worked great for us. We didn’t see staff for more than a few minutes the entire week stay. No frills, for sure, but that helps keep the price down. Location is fantastic. Very close to the beach and we even had a little bit of a view! Parking lot gets full but we always managed to get parking. My kids loved the pool. Kitchen was well stocked. Having a clothes line to dry our stuff would’ve been a huge help. We used the balcony but the birds made a mess of some...
