Old School Beach House

Slechts twee uur rijden van Melbourne, Old School Beach House in Venus Bay is de perfecte uitje locatie voor romantische weekends, familie vakantie en tijd met vrienden. Het prachtig gemeubileerde 120-jarige schoolhuis beschikt over een geveldak, betegelde houten vloeren en houten vloeren, allemaal aangevuld door een kleine uitbreiding die 3 slaapkamers, een eetkamer en badkamer / wasserij omvat.

Het stijlvol ingerichte huis heeft een relaxte, luxe vide. De belangrijkste woonkamer is overstroomd met natuurlijk licht en bevat een comfortabele lounge, tv, dvd, Bluetooth luidsprekers en gasverwarming voor de koeler maanden.

De aangrenzende keuken is volledig uitgerust met onder de koelkast en vriezer, een oven / fornuis, een vaatwasser, een magnetron, een broodrooster, een KitchenAid-koffiezetapparaat en een unieke pantry met schoolgebouw-thema voor al uw lokale gastronomische gerechten en wijnopslag.

De master en de tweede slaapkamers zijn uitgerust met queensize bedden en kamerhoge schuifdeuren die uitkomen op de achtertuin. Ontspan, verblijf in bed en geniet van het uitzicht over de theetuin, het Cape Liptrap kustreservaat en de zandduinen en luister naar de inheemse Eastern Whipbird en oceaangolven.

De derde slaapkamer heeft een eenpersoonsbed, een dubbele stapelbed en een matras. Het is een leuke kamer om de kinderen tegemoet te komen en is ook in staat om comfortabel een derde te huisvesten.

De badkamer / wc biedt toilet, open douche, ijdelheid en wasmachine. Alle basiswasvereisten zoals strijkijzer, strijkplank, wasmanden, enz. Zijn er beschikbaar voor uw gemak. Een kledinglijn is ook aan de zijkant van het huis bevestigd, met name handig om die strandhanddoeken aan het einde van een dag op het strand af te drogen.

De natuurlijke achtertuin is de thuisbasis van prachtige inheemse planten, theebomen en heeft een gasbarbecue en buitendouche. De rustieke poort bij de achterste hek komt uit op het Cape Liptrap-reservaat en de duinen. Een prachtige wandeling uit die poort en je bevindt zich op het strand van Venus Bay 1, een breed zandstrand dat populair is voor sommigen en surfen en tijdens de zomermaanden door de Venus Bay Surf Lifesaving Club wordt gecontroleerd.

Old School Beach House ligt ook op 10 minuten lopen naar de hoofdstraat winkels en het park en een korte rit naar de Andersons Inlet Coastal Reserve.

Winter Short Stay

Everything was exactly as advertised and Michelle was just great in taking me through the set up when we arrived after dark. Nothing was too much trouble. Despite the bucket loads of rain, we got some quick visits in to some local spots, yummy town cafe and a walk to the beach but were very glad to return to a lovely warm house each time. Thank you for providing a great space to stay in.

Fabulous property- old schoolhouse

Michelle the host was excellent and very engaging. We arrived to a handwritten note and a bottle of wine. I loved how the property had been modernised on the inside but had kept some of the old features too. The house is beautifully decorated and feels like a home away from home. Because the gas and electricity was turned off when we arrived which is understandable, the hot water took a few hours to heat up from the water tank so don’t expect a warm shower when you arrive. We had a wonderful weekend and would absolutely recommend the old schoolhouse and Venus Bay beach: We also went to the shell museum at Inverloch which is a short drive away and well worth the the $2 donation per person which contributes to the upkeep of the museum. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

We really enjoyed our stay - cosy nights and many, many trips down to Venus Bay beach, along a lovely path through beautiful flowering scrub. The house is well equipped, with comfy beds and a very pretty outdoor area.

Cosy, inviting and comfortable

Thank you for our stay at your Old Schoolhouse Beach home. The home is inviting and very very cute. Cleverly designed add on to the old schoolhouse. The home had everything we needed for a lovely stay. My kids particularly enjoyed exploring the path from the backyard to the beach, about a 10 minute stroll. The location of the house was great. Walking distance to town. Even in the middle of winter, the home was warm and inviting after a day exploring local beaches and walking trails. Bedding was comfy and kitchen had everything we needed to cook up meals for my forever hungry teenage boys. Thank you again. I will be recommending the schoolhouse to friends and family.

A great nature based getaway

The old school house has been well cared for and thoughtfully renovated. The backyard with swing & fairy lights got 2 thumbs up from the kids for tree climbing and cubby building (even in the rain!). Michelle was very helpful and responsive. Overall a cosy, warm and comfortable stay, we highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time and only wished we had longer. The sofas were super comfortable and we really enjoyed relaxing in the beautifully decorated and restful space. The location is perfect for walking down to the beach via a lovely track out the back gate. It is also within easy walking distance of the shops.

Gorgeous home away from home in Venus Bay

Loved the property and aesthetics! We thought we would be cold at night in bed with only one doona, but the quality was there and it was all we needed to stay warm. No storage for your clothes in any room at all, but for a weekend away it's not a big deal. The 2 heaters heated up the whole house very quickly and we had hot water in a few hours. Lot's of pantry staples. The outdoor area is just beautiful, we would have loved a fire pit to top it off. It was about a 15 walk-lot's of it uphill to the beach from the back gate, and it was well worth it. The beach is stunning. The locals and people staying in Venus bay were all really friendly and helpful. Close to Wilson's Prom to do a few day trips. Overall a really beautiful place to stay! Thank you!

Charming property in a great location

We had a great stay at this lovely old school house that has been renovated into a cute beach house. The beds were comfortable, but maybe for a longer stay there could have been better storage for clothing . The bathroom shower had plenty of hot water with great water pressure. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. The property had good heating options for those cold days and night's. The back yard was great with fairy lights and good outside seating options . We were treated with some of the local flora and fauna and the track to the beach was a bit of fun for us all . It was also a welcome and lovely touch to see a nice bottle of red wine waiting for us on arrival. Our host Michelle was great to deal with . We would love to stay again .

Top Marks for the School House

This is an ideal seaside retreat with a beautiful beach just a short walk from the back gate. The backyard is easy living with a great outdoor table and ancient ti trees that are home to a delightful collection of bird life. The school house is well equipped with kitchen and dining needs, the beds are comfortable and everything is clean and tidy. Michelle and Justin were excellent communicators and very understanding when, due to lockdown restrictions, we had to change dates. Loved it!
