Mooie Custom Log Cabin - Majestic Mountain Bekeken

Geniet van de rustige, majestueus, schilderachtig, uitzicht vanuit onze custom-built houten huis, 'UILEN ROOST'.

'UILEN ROOST' biedt een 180 graden panorama van Grandfather Mountain, Valle Crucis en een prachtige westerse zonsondergang. Ons huis biedt een warme en gezellige omgeving voor uw plezier en ontspanning.

'UILEN ROOST' is gunstig centraal gelegen tussen Blowing Rock, Boone en Banner Elk. Het is ook dicht bij Linville, Sugar Mountain en Beech Mountain.

Ons huis heeft twee slaapkamers op de eerste verdieping en een complete badkamer. De woonkamer en eetkamer hebben gewelfde plafonds en een grote stenen open haard. De keuken beschikt over alle voorzieningen en is goed gevuld met alle essentiële kookgerei. De derde verdieping heeft de master slaapkamer en een complete badkamer met een groot bubbelbad. De derde verdieping heeft ook een loft met een slaapbank.

Het lagere niveau heeft een den, speelzaal (tafeltennis, tafelvoetbal, en de originele arcade-spel van Super Mario). Het lagere niveau heeft een slaapkamer met twee aparte bedden, een ligbad en een wasmachine en droger.

Het huis is bekabeld met Wi-Fi.

Het huis beschikt over twee overdekte dekken en een derde open dek met een groot bubbelbad.

'UILEN ROOST' is de perfecte vakantie get-away, ongeacht welk seizoen. Ervaar vier verschillende seizoenen, waar u kunt genieten: skiën, schaatsen, snowboarden, sleeën, wandelen, winkelen, vissen, raften en nog veel meer.

At first our stay was absolutely wonderful. The house was very nice, beautiful location, up the hill in the trees. Very secluded and peaceful. We had a totally positive experience, until we checked out. We knew that this property did not provide bed linens or towels for guests, so we had to bring our own. Because the house was quite a drive up the hill from the town, we also brought items like toilet paper and paper towels just to be safe. The property did leave some paper towels on the counter but we also used the ones we brought as we had 8 people in the house. Packing up to leave, a roll of paper towels were on the kitchen counter. Thinking nothing of it, I handed the roll to my niece since she is in college there at App State. It didn’t cross my mind if it was a roll we brought or was in the house. Well, about 20 minutes after we checked out and left, I received an email from the owners/hosts. They accused us of going into their “paper towel inventory” and stealing paper towels. Seriously? One roll of paper towels? That we provided for ourselves for the most part. If we had not brought our own, we would have used all of the towels they provided and then some. But more importantly, they admitted to surveillance cameras which were not disclosed to us per VRBO policy or NC law. So I would say only rent here if you want your hosts watching you the whole time. Creepy.

It was beautiful and cozy, with plenty of room for my 4 friends and I reconnecting. The hot tub was awesome and the view was spectacular. With music via Alexa, games, and every kitchen instrument you could need, we had everything we needed and more!

Great property with beautiful view. Cabin had everything you needed. Sleeps alot of people. However, the road/driveway is curvy and very narrow. Kinda scary but it is paved. You also have to bring your own linens. But again, the cabin is GREAT, clean, and secluded!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Excellent host who was easy to contact and helpful with my requests. The property is very quiet and peaceful. The inside decor is whimsical and has a definite mountain theme. The Cabin architecture is impressive. I don’t know how they got those massive logs up that mountain. It is solid. The kitchen has everything you need. Very clean. The hot tub was comfortable and extremely clean. The outdoor furniture was perfect. We loved the swing. We saw deer and wild turkeys from the deck. The charcoal grill was ok after I Googled on how to cook on it. I haven’t used charcoal in years.Nothing died in vain! It turned out well. We hired a guide from Speckled Trout and he was amazing. He took us on a private waterfall hike. Harper’s Falls. High point of our stay. We dodged rain and cool temps the rest of our stay. The hot tub was well used. We almost built a fire but didn’t. The park in Valle Crucis is soooo nice. You have a great walking trail along the river and the wood carvings of animals are beautiful.We would stay here again.

Owls Roost

This is a beautiful piece of property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were there for four days three nights. The property was very clean, very spacious, and fully furnished to our liking. There were eight people in our group, this cabin is very spacious and accommodating for all that were there. I would definitely stay at this cabin again, and I would recommend it for anyone that is looking for a place to stay.

The Baking Planners review

Our group loved this place! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and the view was great. It was fairly quiet, although there were a few dogs barking nearby often. The cabin is at the very top of a mountain, the road up was rough in places because of Helene, but we were able to get up and down without 4WD. The cabin was overall nicely cleaned, there were a few places like under the beds and in closets that were dirty, but not enough to cause problems for us. The interior was gorgeous! They had left out very nice Christmas decorations for us. Everything worked very well, the Alexa was nice to have, and they have a great speaker system that has outdoor speakers near the hot tub! The hot tub has a beautiful view and was phenomenal! We had no trouble bringing our own sheets and towels and they provided plenty of information on what to bring. The beds were very comfortable for everyone. The hot water is limited, we ran out when using the Jacuzzi tub but it wasn't a huge issue. Everything was very well stocked, we had lots of anything we needed except for grilling tools. There was one light out over the dining room table. Overall it was very nice and we would definitely consider coming back!

Home away from Home

We had a wonderful weekend at this mountain Cabin, it truly felt like a home away from home. Fully stocked kitchen for easy meal preparation, comfortable living area, nice size bed rooms with very comfortable beds. Hot tub with great views was an added bonus. The owner was very responsive, and hospitable. We will definitely stay again when in the Boone area!

Best mountain cabin we have stayed in and the owner was very prompt in communicating and answering all questions leading up to our trip . I would recommend The Owl's Roost for a family trip or a friend's gathering .

Walking on eggshells

I forgot to inform the owner that my brother who is 100% disabled from military service would have his service dog with him. My brother was sitting in the driveway with his service dog when the host approached him telling him that no pets were allowed on the property. My brother informed the host that the dog was a service animal, not a pet. That wasn’t good enough for the owner. The host and I talked and apologized for not informing him that my brother would have his service dog with him. That was good enough for the host, he continued to call the dog a pet and I continued to remind him that the dog was not a pet but a service dog. My brother has PTSD which is a fight for his life every day but due to the owner's aggressive behavior toward my brother, a decision was made that he had to go home. The owner told me I would have to pay an additional $100 for clean-up, here’s another quote from the owner “You probably got in only (1) round of golf - was it worth the trip? Certainly was not for us !!” So we walked on eggshells the 2 nights in this cabin, just waiting for another shoe to drop.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was wonderful and the location was a big plus. We had plenty of room for the family. The game room and the many board games in the basement and the hot tub on the deck were a big hit with all of us. The beds are all very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The living room has seating for plenty of people. There are only two minor things that I would note. The first is that you have to take your own linens. The second is there is nowhere to dump the garbage on property. You have to take it with you or run it to the landfill. Other than those two very minor items, we highly recommend this property and we would rent it again.

Wedding Prep

My family was able to use the cabin as we prepared for our son's wedding. Description was accurate and accommodations provided plenty of space and was conveniently close to the venue. Host was gracious and assisted when I wasnt able to find the check-in letter that also included access code. All went extremely well and was a great weekend.

Nice house, pleasant stay, just come prepared

Overall the house was nice with a good view. We found out after booking that you have to bring all of your own towels and linens, which is rather annoying for weekend getaway. We tried to communicate with the owner several times before the stay about parking, door code, etc. While communication was quick, the owner was not overly friendly/helpful about us having “so many cars for so few people”, referring us to the email several weeks ago when asking about the door code, etc. Also, the grill was a charcoal grill, no gas or propane so come prepared with the necessary stuff.
