'The communication from the hotel was excellent, and accessing the room later in the day via the key box was no problem at all. The location is great—just a short walk to the beach and shops. The room was clean, though definitely a bit tired. The carpets were grubby, and the wallpaper could use some attention. Still, for the price, it was perfectly adequate. It’s unclear whether rooms are let on a longer-term basis, but it seemed that way. Sadly, our neighbour was audibly upset and sobbed...

'The owner messaged to advise how to access the key for the room, as we would arrive after the 'reception' closes (no reception area in the hotel) and organised a parking permit for us. However, we could not find parking, as it is permit road parking and we had to park in a private car park (which ultimately felt safer due to CCTV). The hotel was run down and dated. Beautiful spacious room, giant,comfortable bed, 2armchairs,dressing table and to top that off French doors to a small balcony, overlooking the pier and sea front. Bathroom was also spacious with great shower and a large jacuzzi bath with a TV! (which was delightful). Evening meal was basic but tasty and good value for money. Definitely recommend and will come and stay again. '

'Geen toeristische plek, er valt weinig te beleven buiten de zomerperiode. Eten in hotel is 'bijzonder' (wij vonden het echt niet lekker). Hotel is wel erg netjes en comfortabel maar... op vrijdagavond erg veel lawaai van de 'disco' die in de bar is georganiseerd, net onder de kamer.'

'Loved the de luxe room we were allocated. Whole of hotel was classy from the decor to staff attentiveness.Only chose to have the breakfast option which had many choices to choose from. Hotel is in the centre of Southwold and most things happen from the tour centre. Will definitely be going back there again.'
