'No Wifi access on the first day and only at the lobby. Only few staffmembers could speak some English. Unfriendly staff. Anouncments Etc almost only in Japanese. Swimmingpool closes at 4 pm. A part of our room's sealing was only 185cm high!!!This hotel is clearly aiming at Japanese guests only. Location is convenient.'

'In het echt is dit Hotel nog veel mooier dan men volgens de foto's op internet zou verwachten. Het is een hotel met een enorm luxe inrichting, en met een daarbij behorende service en restaurants. er zijn twee grote restaurants. de een japans en de ander een Frans restaurant, welke wel aan de prijzige kant zijn. de twee restaurants hebben een fantastisch uitzicht over het meer (lake) Ashi. Het hotel is prima te bereiken met Hakone Highway bussen welke in ons geval vertrok vanuit het sinjuku...

'Unmatched location, all rooms look over the stunning 1930’s garden and magnificent mountains and lake, no bad views! The hotel exudes old world charm, and while some may find this ‘dated’ we found it delightful. The Franco-Japanese -Deco blend carries through to cuisine and 2 fantastic restaurants (though not for the budget conscious). A truly unique and memorable stay. Would come back in a heart beat. '

The Japanese gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful and relaxing. Also, do not miss out on having lunch or dinner at the French restaurant. The food and the service were exquisite.'
