I always check my mattress for cleanliness before settling in and unpacking. I pulled back the sheets on one bed and there was some remanent of food. I pulled back another layer and there were fluid stains. The second bed had black dust, marks and also had some stains. The toilet had feces in the hinge of the toilet.
I contacted the front desk and the attendant came up and took pictures. I was moved to a different room and the sheets were cleaner. Thank you to Merlin.
The next morning, it was raining and I asked for a second umbrella, the room provides one as a courtesy. I had to plead with the receptionist and explain the dirty room and that asking for an umbrella is not an inconvenience to the hotel. She rang for the manager and she told him I was the lady who changed rooms. They looked at each other and laughed. He didn't acknowledge the room change until I had asked him if he had seen the photos. He said he only glanced at it. He never asked how was my new room, he never acknowledged the dirty room. Instead he chose to small talk about university tours.
I felt dismissed by management.
