'As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Gina was by far the sweetest young lady. She explained everything to me and showed me where the elevators were at as well as making sure I was comfortable. The room was all that and more! The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely be back here when I visit my best friend again! 10 Stars if I could rate it that high!'

'Great staff all the way around, wonderful morning breakfast served with a selection and plenty of room to dine. The hotel bar was excellent along with the lobby very well decorated and comfortable.'

'Gives a The Shinning vibe. Has a very odd smell which is the combination of cinnamon and sage oil. The decor looks like an 20's themed party which was decorated by Amazon. The carpet with the dates was unnerving. I understand at one point this was the best hotel in Des Moines but that is not today. The staff was nice but somewhat disconnected I'm guessing because they aren't making enough to feed and shelter themselves. The parking is next door to the hotel and although not a deal breaker. ...

'The hot tub was diry, the maintenance guy needed to clean it. The breakfast was fine. The manager should have gave me the $80 first night, then the same price the next 3 nights. He refused. He claimed he wouldn't get to keep his job if he saved me money. '

'The pool area is closed due to renovation but they have plenty of other spots on sight to meet and hangout. I loved the Pioneer bar and the bar tender makes great food and drinks of all kinds.'

'The room was clean. Breakfast was great! There were kitchen made omelets, sausage, and potatoes. It's in a good location downtown with easy walking to downtown entertainment.'

'The traffic near the hotel was crazy, as usual road construction, weaving thru a restaurant parking lot to get the hotel was weird; literally took 12 minutes before someone greeted us (another traveler and myself) and check us in, it was 4:16 PM, so nobody near from the front desk. The Machine Shed restaurant within walking distance, was great food, and incredible staff.'

'The property, staff and cleanliness were amazing. The tv remote didn’t work correct in two of the three rooms we had. Don’t let the fact the property isn’t a new hotel scare you. I’d fully recommend this hotel especially for the price.'
