'My family had to drive up to Virginia for my cousins graduation from UVA. So this was a quick trip but seeing the views from the house were so beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer! Make sure you have 4 wheel drive to get here, it is quite a steep ride up the mountain.'

'This place was perfect size for my husband and I and another couple to stay and enjoy an extended weekend. I give it a 4 star over all stay due to the 2 bedroom has more of a closet door instead of a true door that had difficulty closing at night. All new appliances were perfect for cooking dinner at night and perfect location to do the Nelson 151 wine tour.'

'This was a beautiful and quiet setting perfectly located for our interests which were hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, and enjoying a day trip to Thomas Jefferson’s home at Monticello. The property was clean, well laid out, and functional. Communication was clear. We had a wonderful stay.'

'Perfect little place for my husband and I to stay while visiting our daughter at UVA. It was a quick drive to campus. This cottage provides more room than a hotel room. There was a cute back porch (with a porch swing!) that you could relax and have a glass of wine. Our cottage looked out on a pasture with goats.'

'Wanted something different and this was. Had no real problems other than a few bugs but the room was a better choice than a hotel room. Only downside was the long drive at night on dark and winding roads. '

'The cottage was beautiful. Very nicely decorated, had many amenities, like bathrobes, which we loved. It’s the little things :-) The WiFi was great, which was important to us, because we worked from there. It is in a perfect location between downtown Charlottesville and all the wineries. The property manager was very quick to reply to all my questions, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!'

'The house is adorable. Every little comfort has been thought about and provided. From the couch to the bedding, it felt like a home. The outside is fabulous. Woods and a great firepit made the nights fun and full of laughter. We spent the days hiking the AT or enjoying a good book, that we found from the ample selection, on the shelves inside. There are no complaints, just thanks for such a wonderful stay.'

'Hillside hideaway was perfect! It’s in a great location to get into Shenandoah via the Swift Run entrance. Rhonda was an amazing host. Very attentive and responded to messages within 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to disconnect and relax.'

'My family stayed here during part of our spring break. It was a charming cottage—rustic on the outside, but modern cabin on the inside. My young daughters loved it and keep asking to go back to “the cottage.” The location was excellent and seemingly everything we wanted to check out — trails, wineries, campus — was all less than 30 minutes away. 10/10 would stay again.'

'This has become an annual trip for my family. Very relaxing. Love spending hours at the rec center. The property is cool. Actually received brand new living room furniture on our second day. Only complaint would be the out dated TVs in the bedroom. I’m sure they’ll be changing those soon'
