With easy paved access, you can visit all year round! Just minutes to many area attractions, including the conference center, it is the perfect home base for your Great Smoky Mountain retreat.

Welcome to the Lake Junaluska community! Set in the most beautiful lakeside neighborhood, and just moments to the conference center, this home is the perfect place for enjoying the many events this area has to offer.

Take a relaxing stroll around the 2 mile lakeside walking path, cast a fishing line for bass, or rent a kayak or canoe. There are so many incredible outdoor amenities! Guests may purchase passes to the lakeside pool, open Memorial Day through Labor Day, as well as play mini golf, corn hole, shuffleboard, and tennis.

Higher Ground is also conveniently located just a short drive to so many other area attractions, such as the Cataloochee Ski Resort, Tube World, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Soco Falls, and historic downtown Waynesville. Day trips to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, or Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee are less than an hour away.

Higher Ground is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with mix of both full time residents and vacation rentals. Lake Junaluska is within walking distance.

You will need a car to best enjoy the many area attractions, however Lake Junaluska is within walking distance.

This charming home was built and owned by the same family for generations. They still own it to this day, and decided to open it so others can make some of the same magical memories on the lake that they have enjoyed over the years.

While it is recently updated, it still retains its charm, and has features of an older home. It is comfortable and inviting, but is not a high end luxury property and priced accordingly. If you are looking for a budget friendly place in a fantastic location, Higher Ground is the home for you!

The downstairs den also functions as an office and sleeping area. You must walk through this area to access the lower bedroom and bath. The downstairs fireplace is not functional.
Please clean up after your pets in the yard and we request that you keep them off the furniture and bedding.

Dogs only allowed, and must be under 40 lbs. Please include your pet in your reservation as a guest so the pet fee is applied.

No accelerants such as lighter fluid are allowed anywhere at this property.

Guests cannot use the first floor wood stove.
