'Our family of 7 stayed for a week and it was very comfortable for all. Comfortable beds, functional kitchen, large dining space and plenty of room for lounging — though we were very busy and didn’t spend much time lounging. Close enough to walk to everything downtown. The decor of the house was fun and interesting — we all loved it. '

'An amazing stay with great views of the city from the hot tub. We loved how close the home was to the city without feeling like we were in a too crowded place.'

'We loved our stay - right in the water! Views were amazing, kitchen was well stocked and the rooms comfortable. There are only 3 bedrooms though - but plenty of beds. We had one upset teen who had to sleep in the family room which was a bummer. But the house is nice and the private guest house was a great quiet space. '

'This was a wonderful property with lots of space for all of us to spread out. Very close to the heart of Reykjavik.'

'All the communication with Heidi and Rob was outstanding.The house was better than we anticipated. We had 10 adults and we all fit very well. The hot tub was so great after long days of exploring and hiking. The house was very modern and well laid out. The week we stayed with them happened to be one of the warmest on record. I contacted the host because the house was very warm at night, they were so kind and brought a couple of fans over which helped. I would highly recommend staying at this...

'We loved our stay at Vatka! Margrét’s home and hospitality leave nothing to be desired. The historic house is cozy, artfully curated, and thoughtfully equipped. The central location was perfect for exploring downtown’s restaurants, shops, and coastal sights, which Margrét’s visitor’s guide made easy. A truly special stay.'

'Our stay was super relaxing. The home was actually better than expected. And communication with the host was quick and responsive. We had no issues whatsoever. The little town was great. Had some nice options for dinner. We really used the home as base camp as we explored as many areas within Iceland that our brief time allowed. Highly recommend and we would be happy to stay here again.'

'Close to Reykjavik but far enough out of town for some privacy. Took multiple day trips. Hot tub was amazing after a day of exploring. House easily fit large, extended family. Had everything we needed for meals at home. Highly recommend!'

The kitchen was a dream to cook family meals in and my adult children loved the hot tub and close walk to the ocean. It was a wee bit of a drive to Reykjavík, but so worth it. Ursula was kind, responsive, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!'

"Bij dit hotel zit je midden in het centrum zonder dat het gehorig is. Wij hadden een deluxe kamer die erg schoon was. Binnen 5 minuten ben je bij busstop 14, van waaruit je alle transfers neemt naar excursies, het vliegveld etc. Er is een bar in het hotel, daar miet je wel direct afrekenen. Ontbijt is oké, maar er is niets warms, dus ook geen omelet of toast. En niet echt variatie. Uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor een verblijf in IJsland."

"Our apartment is quite big. The location is convenient to all the major interesting places in the city. The reception is helpful. But the kitchen can hardly be used due to very limited cooking utensils and cleaning capacity. If you plan to cook yourself, maybe you should find another place. The breakfast is also very limited. Regarding parking, the on site parking is 20 Euro/day and there is only 1 lot. It's not too difficult to find a on street parking nearby, but it's expensive at 600 ISK/hour, payable from 9am to 9pm. A good choice is to park in a nearby garage (Tradarkot) at the rate of 260 ISK for the 1st hour and 130 ISK/hour for the following hours (Oct. 2024 price). With Parka app, it's very convenient to check in and out for the garage. "
