'Great location right off Main Street but away from the crowds. Food options were very limited for non-meat eaters. We would have loved to have dinner at the beautiful restaurant in the hotel but it was very meat-oriented. The rooms are basic but very nice, and designed almost Nordic-style (like Iceland). The hospitality was incredible! The staff were exceptionally friendly and are there to make your stay great. The iced coffee drinks at the "Pharmacy" were delicious! '

My husband did a great job with this birthday; the staff was wonderful; we loved the golf carts; we loved the cabins. It was such a great experience we can’t wait to do it again. 'We had a great stay here. Very friendly people at the reception. Breakfast was like you find at most motels in Texas: basic but decent enough. Good location to explore the wineries during the day. We highly recommend the Texas Hill Winery and Rhinory. Also for a late drink and a true taste of the Texan hospitality, go to the Red Baron bar just behind the hotel. It's a hidden gem in the parking lot that's really hard to find, but full of locals. Looks super dodgy from the outside, but great...

'The owner personally checked on us and shared the interesting Hx of this carefully renovated 60’s motel. Great attention to the era. This motel was not affected by the 2025 Kerrville floods, but along with other hotels/motels provided free lodging for search and rescue volunteers for this devastated area. '

'I don’t mind older hotels and don’t need luxury or fancy stuff but I do like my room clean and that just wasn’t the case here. There were stains on the sheets, the floor was greasy and the bath tub was so worn down I really dreaded taking a shower. We decided not to stay and booked a room across the street; best decision for us. Lady at reception was very friendly though, there sure is potential to make this a nice place to stay but the current state just wasn’t ok for us..'

'Conveniently located between Johnson City and the Hye/Stonewall area and not to far from Fredericksburg. The on-site winery, brewery and restaurant are excellent. The food is great and they also serve the beers and wines from their own facilities. The suites are very spacious and have a separate bedroom and living area as well as an outside porch.
