'I booked the Spruce Room, which has extremely dated pictures online. There have been years of use when you actually view the place. The kitchen has stains and marked up tiles, bathroom is barely clean with black mold in the back of toilet.
All 4 of our beds had dirty linens and since there is no on-site manager, they had us raid the emergency shed and hopefully retrieve extra sheets. These sheets were all unusable. They reeked of mildew. Our family had nowhere to sleep that night, so we had to...

'The rooms are nicely updated and the bedding was very comfortable! The reception area was beautiful and the outside seating area is perfect for summer evenings. Continental breakfast was ok but wish they had fruit as an option. Staff was all very friendly and accommodating.'

'The room was clean and on the small side. It is situated across the street from Saranac Lake. We liked the fact that they had areas to sit outside the rooms and also a couple gazebos . It was quiet and a great place to relax after an active day.'

'The lobby is extremely nice and the location is perfect! Just park your car and walk Main Street all you want! The only thing we didn’t like was the TV. It was small for the room and we couldn’t log into Netflix. We were tired after hiking all day and just wanted to watch TV after dinner.'

'This hotel with a history offers great surroundings near Saranac lake, spacious, modern and clean family rooms, and friendly staff for a reasonable price. During our 3 week trip in July through north east of USA and Canada we planned to stay here for 2 nights but decided to stay an extra night. We were very lucky with the weather ( 75 -82 F) but heard the winter period lasts long and is tough.'

'The place was very accessible to shopping and tourist areas like High Falls Gorge and Whiteface Mountain. Breakfast was good. The only thing we didn’t like was the shower since the water from there flows right into the toilet. No clearcut divided except for the curtains. Other than that, our stay was great.'
