We were welcomed by our host as soon as we arrived. She took us on a tour of the comfortable home and we felt, well, "right at home" immediately. Access to the beach was great...our own private walkway. We cooked many of our meals at home and had all the pots, pans and other kitchen amenities that we needed. In fact, we really enjoyed working in the bright and cheerful kitchen. We loved our beach "home" and look forward to returning in the future.

Prime location with the ocean literally at the bottom of your steps! The porch was a beautiful gathering place for our Women’s Prayer Group! Clean and spacious for our group to gather for our sessions yet provided some areas for private reflection and reading. I loved the air flow through the house from the ocean as we opened windows. Genevieve and Duane were wonderful hosts and so accommodating. Beds were comfortable.

To start..our host met us outside when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the home showing where everything was. The house was perfect. We had a wonderful restful time. We could not have asked for a better place. Host are very responsive to text and questions.

The location is excellent—just steps from the dunes with the sound of the ocean right outside. Extras like coolers, beach toys, and boogie boards were appreciated.However, there were major downsides. Privacy is not as advertised. The owners live above the unit and sometimes stay next door. It was obvious we were being watched, and the kitchen windows have no blinds, which did not feel accidental.EV charging was a serious issue. The listing and rule book never mention it being prohibited. I plugged my Tesla into a 15-amp outdoor outlet, but the owner unplugged it almost immediately. In doing so, they looped the prongs of my charger around the handle, which appears to have scratched my car. This was invasive—if concerned, they could have tripped the breaker instead of handling my property.The unit also has safety concerns. The electrical system is outdated, with many ungrounded outlets. I had to buy a grounded extension cord just to charge my laptop safely. Every room had light 16–18 gauge cords in place of outlets, which is a fire hazard. The floors are uneven, the refrigerator doesn’t seal without a hard push (risking food spoilage), and one bedframe was zip-tied together.Finally, notes in the unit pressure guests to leave only 5-star reviews. While the location is great, the lack of privacy, intrusive owner behavior, and multiple safety issues made this stay disappointing.

Wonderful house and location

Good location but experienced issues

The location was beautiful but unfortunately my fiance and daughter woke with bites. Didn't think much of it but checked the beds any way and found a insect. The owner assured me it is wasn't a bed bug. I took a video and picture of the insect. In my opinion it very much looked like a bed bug. Small red bug and the next day my daughters neck was covered in bites. The location and home were beautiful but we will not be returning due to this. My little girl tossed and turned all night and I hadn't even thought of the possibility of her getting bit by bugs the owners were responsive and offered to have the place sprayed but the bug guy was not in office from what they told me.

So amazing!

Property was so nice, it had beach related items to use like small body boards,canopy, cooler, etc and things u didn't have to bring or forgot. There was enough space for everyone, we had 8 ppl) to fit comfortably. The property owners will right above us and they were ready available to get any of our needs and get disturb us the whole weekend me and my family were very happy we didn't have one issue that came up on the trip and they did attend to it but I didnt feel comfortable using that room even though they did attempt to fix it. But I definitely would stay and book with them again, thanks Dwayne and Genevieve. that was only downside of the trip

Magical Moments at Carolina Beach

This is a historic property modernized to please. It was a unique experience to be situated right on the beach. Just go a few steps out the back door and your feet are in the sand. The back porch is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sun and moon rises over the ocean. Bring your crew and settle in to begin making happy memories.

Charming property

Very spacious and well appointed rental. We appreciated being oceanfront and the beautiful big porch with lots of seating. Although there’s not a good view of the ocean from the porch, there is from the deck that is part of the walkway. Excellent value for the rental price!

Loved Every Minute At This Charming House!

My sisters and I had a fabulous time here. We were impressed as soon as we opened the front door. The house was well decorated, and soft music was playing from the tv upon our entry. The location on the beach was perfect, and the view from the back porch rocking chairs was stunning. Everything was clean and comfortable, and every need was provided for - Adirondack chairs to take to the beach, beverage coolers, cornhole in the back yard etc.All communication with the hosts was excellent. I received prompt replies, and they were always very courteous and helpful. We want to always stay at this house, whenever possible, when we return to Carolina Beach.We're already planning our return.
