'The restaurant was excellent although the service was slow as there was no Maitre d' at the door to welcome and we had to wait quite a few minutes to be seated. However, the waiter cleared a table for us efficiently upon request.
The setting was perfect for our outdoor weekend: rapidly flowing river outside our window and lovely views into the valley.
The room was comfortable and spacious fitting myself, my husband and grown son adequately.'

'A fab stay at the hare and hounds. What a fabulous friendly pub with great helpful staff. Food was fantastic. Our room was spacious, clean and had beautiful views. We will definitely be back and couldn't recommend more to anyone wanting a base to stay for great walks and villages surrounding.'

'My stay at the Shakespeare was short but will be remembered as a really good experience. I felt like a truly valued customer, everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The room was good and the bed was huge!! It was 2 lovely nights sleep, nice hot shower in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast. It really set me up for the day.
I would most certainly revisit and can recommend it for a good place to stay in Kendal.'
