Great place for a short visit
Stayed here for a wedding at Macedon Winery and couldn't ask more for a convienant place to stay at - it's literally a 5 minute drive from the venue. Spotlessly clean, lovely hosts with small considerate touches such as breakfast crossiants waiting for you!

Little Gem in Woodend
Marni was a super host. We had a delightful stay. Everything was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and every comfort was afforded including sourdough crumpets and Lindt chocolates and a plentiful supply of tea varieties and pod coffee. I would highly recommend.

Had a beautiful time in this B and B, Marni was so kind and gave helpful hints about places to eat. Apartment was perfect for a weekend getaway- close enough to walk into town. Loved our two nights here

Not easily accessed
The accommodation, once reached, was excellent apart from described as having a ‘kitchenette’. (Sink/trough in a laundry and a toaster and microwave in main sitting/dining room. But: The property required knowing to enter/walk through side gates to go to the back of the host’s house to reach the entrance to accommodation. Parking is not close, far enough away to make carrying luggage, esky, etc difficult over uneven ground. Not good for anyone with any mobility or health issue.

We are sorry that, due to a medical emergency, we were unable to show you in upon your arrival. Unfortunately you have not entered the property via the guest entry marked “welcome” at the car park but have walked around the entire property, entering via our private vegetable garden. We are sorry that you misunderstood our instructions.

Easter at ‘The Birches’
The Birches was very comfortable for our three night stay. Lovely quiet location and immaculate presentation. The beds are top quality, with a beautiful bathroom and spacious lounge area. The kitchenette is somewhat limited as indicated by the name but was enough for our short stay. Our Vodaphone reception was weak but may be better for Telstra. Wifi was very good. We enjoyed the extras Marni provided and appreciated her friendliness and flexibility. We had a very pleasant stay.

Property was immaculately clean and comfortable with lots of lovely little amenities we weren't expecting. Like a beautiful spelt loaf of bread, jams, coffee pods, chocolates, etc. Beds were lush and the area is quite (which was dangerous as I overslept). A highly pleasant stay.

Working visit
This property was very easy to use for a work visit to the region being shared by two colleagues. The property was attractive as well, so a nice change from generic hotel-stays. Our host was welcoming but not intrusive, making it easy to get on with our work.

Fabulous BnB nestled in the heart of Woodend
This was our second stay at The Birches and it was just as fabulous as the first time around! Marni is a terrific host; she was incredibly welcoming and friendly. She left a basket of delicious local goods upon entering and had specific information on what would be open/closed over the Easter weekend which we thought was very considerate. The space is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a great stay exploring Woodend and surrounds. We highly recommend.

Cosy and convenient
My sister and I stayed here to 'Run The Rock'. Check-in was a breeze and Marni was very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know. An easy stroll into town which is lovely to walk around. We went to the brewery for dinner, which is highly recommended. Breakfast was plentiful with lovely bread and jams, perfect before a long run!

Absolutely lovely in every respect. Lovely spot and surrounds. Property beautifully finished from overall fixtures and fittings, bedroom and bathroom decor, down to the fine details and little extras which were much appreciated. Marni was very accommodating and only wish we'd had longer.
