'After spending two nights inside Volcanoes national park and two nights in the touristy part of Kailua Kona, staying in this quiet and tranquil property for our last two nights was the perfect way to end our vacation! It is away from the main tourist hub and yet close enough to get to restaurants in Kailua Kona within 15 min. 'This is an extraordinary place, beautifully nestled at the top of a narrow tree-lined road, designed to blend into the landscape. It's high, and the view of the sea is grand. Well appointed, with a salt-water pool and very nice communal areas. We stayed only one night, a stopover between Kona airport and the drive to Hilo. We left thinking we would like to stay again, perhaps stay two nights. Lovely hosts. '

'Beautiful location in a very quiet neighborhood. We stayed a week at Volcano Hale. Bought our own groceries near the airport since we read there were no stores near the house. Drove over 2 hours from Kona and less than an hour from Hilo when we did day trips. The house is only close to Volcano National Park. We did everything from seeing the turtles on Black Sand Beach, 4 wheeling to star gaze up over 13,800 feet on Mauna Kea Volcano, 4 wheeling to Green Sand Beach, saw Akaka waterfall, the sea...

'If you are a backcountry camper, this is for you! The hut is situated in primitive setting of rain forest. You can imagine a big tent but in wood sitting in the woods. I like the nature surrounding and the art deco. However, lack of electricity and a modern bathroom is a big downside. The host is friendly, responsive, and helpful. However, descriptions of the property and instructions to the property aren't sufficiently clear.'

'Check in was snow, the room guaranteed by 4:00 pm, I was there at 3:40pm and they won’t let us to the room till 4:00pm, this resort didn’t provide shampoo and conditioner, it is kind of weir.'
