'Room was good, and I appreciated the small touches. However, the self check-in was a horrible experience. I was unable to check in because my room hadn’t been marked as ready in the system, and I couldn’t contact anyone on WhatsApp or Expedia. I could only resolve the issue and check in after forty minutes when another guest had the same issue, but could contact the host via a competing provider (rhymes with “looking bot from”).'

Possibly because of this, reasonably affordable rooms in the city center could not be found at all. A room at this hotel was still the most affordable. Previous reviews were often quite negative. Still, we opted for it for the cost. The carpet on the stairs was indeed quite worn and full of holes. The room was very basic, bed quite narrow for 2, bedding and towels were good. Bathroom OK. 'The room was nice and clean, no fridge in the room but for the price i can't complain. the bus stop just outside the building so fast easy and cheap to get around and enjoy Edinburgh.'
