'Stayed with family to celebrate birthday. The house and property were beautiful, clean. quiet and peaceful. Sitting on the porch and seeing wildlife was an added bonus. And the big soaker bathtub - wonderful! We would definitely love to return! And the short drive to Knoebels was great!'

'I grew up in Shamokin so I understand most of the homes are historically old and many are row houses. The host does a wonderful job of making the home feel welcoming. Loved the decor and fun layout. The bathroom is large and clean with great water pressure; that's always a bonus. ;)'

'It’s a little house/ camper on the farm property. If you don’t mind glamping camper style- you’ll be fine. The deck was really cute to hang out on and it had a great view. The hot tub is not at the little house- it’s at the main house. We drove to it (mainly because it was chilly at night but can be walkable.) The rooms were very small, studio apartment like but still very cute. It had all the essentials and we were very happy with it. '

'The property & accommodations are beautiful. This is a very well run private rental. Clean, comfy, well-equipped, well-appointed. Great communication. We will be back with more time to enjoy the property, but this was a much needed 8-hour getaway for two tired parents 😴 '

'Black Diamond Retreat was a wonderful place for a family gathering. Both indoor and outdoor areas were spacious and gave everyone room to spread out and wander. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit every evening and playing corn hole and bocci outside as well. 'This place is amazing!!! We rented this home for a weekend to celebrate my husband’s 40th. The home has everything you can imagine! 'Me and my friends just spent our New Year's here for two nights. The man cave lives up to its name-- we spent a good deal of the weekend playing pool, darts, and card games, used the grill, and were just a few blocks off from some great food and liquor stores. I'd imagine any sort of group would enjoy coming here, though, given other advantages like access to trails and monuments in historic PA. Everything worked just as we wanted it to, and Mary's filled out the space to create a great place...

'Our family celebrated Thanksgiving here and it was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, from plates and glassware to pots and pans. The property had plenty of room too! A huge heated sunroom, a sizable great room, and a front porch with the best views of the lake. House came with a fire pit and canoes too and it is right on the beautiful lake. The only small issue we faced was bedrooms are right off the living room, but we were able to move out to the sunroom once...

Uitgeleefd, muf en klam
"1e kamer die ik kreeg, zag er oud en uitgeleefd uit. Matras en lakens waren erg klam en 's nachts snapte waarom dit zo is, bij slecht weer druppelde het water van het plafond op het tapijt in de kamer. Bij de receptie om een nieuwe kamer gevraagd, maar deze 2e Kamer was niet veel beter. Ook in deze kamer maakte de airco echt veel herrie. Geen prettig verblijf. Bij de receptie deden ze net alsnog niks wisten over een lekkage, terwijl je dit aan het plafond duidelijk kon zien dat dit al langer een probleem was. Ontbijt was ook niet veel helaas."
