'I don't understand the previous rating "outstanding" which influenced my booking: the hotel is very basic, run-down, extremely inconvenient: you won't be able to have a coffee/tea properly - the space is tiny, the hotel wouldn't provide even with drinking water and you've got to pay $8 for a small bottle, the cups' sizes don't fit the machine, the bathtub plug missing so there's no point of having the bathtub in the first place, terrible lamps "shades" and switches, the windows facing the other...

'Hotel is only 200 meters from a busstop and located near many restsurants. Room is clean and staff at the reception was friendly. Also the room was quiet, I would definitly come back here.'

'Seems like a historical property with a bar and restaurant downstairs. The room we had was one with high ceilings, such as you might expect in an older Victorian building. Bathroom was roomy and nicely designed. No elevator, so you had to climb stairs. The restaurant and bar downstairs served very good food and was always busy. The property is right on a tram line, so it's easy to get downtown by hopping on the tram.'

'Absolutely horrible customer service after hours. There was not one to help us check in. We had to call into the intercoms and the person on the line was rude, hostile. Even yelled at us for no being there in their self proclaim customer service hours. Also the advertise mislead us to believe breakfast was included which is not at least you want to spend 20 dollars for some por tarts and granola bars. This hotel does not meet best Western business core.'

'I booked this room for my mother and sister who were visiting a sick child at the Royal Children’s Hospital. When I checked in I had the overall impression of ‘dirty’. The common corridor was not vacuumed. There were crumbs on the dining room table, sofa pillows felt greasy, balcony was dusty and unusable and the air did not smell fresh. After two hours I checked out. I couldn’t put my relatives in this room. I obtained a nice modern, clean room at the Larwill Studio, adjacent to the hospital,...

'In room ac/heater worked well. The staff was amazing. From a North American perspective, amenities (water pressure wasn't great) and conditions weren't 100%, but I would stay here again 100%.'
