'We had a three night stay and found the hotel while not ocean front to be in a good location. You can walk to the beach access but with young children it’s super easy just to drive to one of the beach accesses. Our room was on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and grabbing a cart to unload was too. The pool isn’t big but it never got incredibly crowded. The breakfast buffet was okay but got a little crowded and there’s some great places to go for breakfast at the obx....

'This was our first family trip to the Outer Banks and Shutters on the Banks was a great place to stay. One of the few hotels that still provides daily room cleaning. This meant we had fresh towels and they even vacuumed. The free breakfast and being on the beach was great to have with kids. 'Hidden gem!'

'The main elevator was out of order and we had to use the stairs. I have low vision and the steps were not marked well. The breakfast area was so hot you could not sit in it. The pool was closed for one of the days we were there. One bright spot was the staff at the front desk.'

'I have stayed @ the Naggs Head Inn for the last 5 years & I’m not coming back unless they go back to the way they were. The room was a security risk @ best. When I checked windows @ bedtime the window was unlatched on one side & other latch was broken off. I used the toilet plunger to wedge the window closed for safekeeping & windows were filthy. The Table is broken & when used it would fall off pedestal. The Bed posts were also broken and would fall apart from the frame. The Hair dryer in...

'This place was wonderful. Close to the beach and close to many of our day trips. Amanda was fantastic.'

'Overall, we really enjoyed staying here. When we first walked in one of the first things I noticed was that it smelled very clean, which I appreciated. It also looked clean and well maintained. I was disappointed though that the dining area had a lot of flies. It was strangely all concentrated around the dining area, like there was some kind of fly problem specifically in the dining area. But the room is itself very clean and the other amenities were well maintained.'
