Prima hotel
I Residence hotel ligt in Sathorn, in een zijstraat van soi Suanplu. S'avonds is het rustig, weinig last van het verkeer. Mijn kamer leek op een een service appartement, was ruim en schoon. Alles werkte goed alleen de deuren kunnen heel gehorig zijn bij het dichtdoen. Verder hing er een naar luchtje op de gang maar voor het geld is dit een prima hotel. Paar minuten lopen vh hotel zijn veel lokale eettentjes, massagesalons en een markt.Sky train of metro is 10-15 minuten lopen. Er is een gratis shuttle dienst op bepaalde tijden naar de skytrain/metro.

When the price is OK I book here often and then it's OK. Much restriction around so can be noisy Also some noisy rooms I try to get the more quiet apartments here. Often dum communication with staff Some speak good some bad. So iffy you're booking goes OK there is no problem But iff you wanna change something I wish you good luck

Great hotel!
We went to I Residence Sathorn for 8 nights. We took the junior suite, which is big and comfy. There is a 7eleven almost next to the hotel and marketstalls at the mainroad, so there is a lot of food nearby. Next to that, the staff is really friendly.

Comfortable and clean, horrible staff.
When I took a taxi to the hotel, they brought me to the wrong hotel in the first place, becuase there are two i residence hotels in the area: in Silom and Sathorn. Be sure to tell your driver to which one you need to go. When I arrived, the staff was very quiet and distant. The room was very clean, and well maintained but a bit outdated. They did not have "do not disturb" signs, so I was awakened by housekeeping quite a few times. Every room has a doorbell which is quite honestly the worst thing to wake up to. Airconditioning works fine in the rooms, but the hallways are not airconditioned so it gets really hot. Room service was average. Put together in a few minutes and doesn't win any prizes. Breakfast was horrrible. Stale croissants, toasts were dry, and the noodles were lukewarm, bland and tasted old. I recommend to just go to a local streetfood stall to get breakfast. Also I went to get some food from a street food stall that afternoon, and asked to borrow a fork from the front desk. They wouldn't lend me a fork unless I paid up. Disappointed. TL;DR Comfortable room, bad room service and breakfast, staff not very helpful.

Worn out mattress, poor internet connection (not fast, not reliable) clogged toilet system (it's not just my room, it's all rooms, i asked at reception and was shocked-they ask all guests to wipe and throw it in a small bin), my room had insects in the bathroom - i took a picture. everything in the room feels "done" and like it's about to break. location is ok, staff is friendly, but you can't have a hotel without basic-decent amenities like a good bed, a working toilet and a reliable internet connection.

It's so close to embassies. There is more than one seven eleven nearby. pharmacy nearby. but it does not have a good location where you can eat local foods. The hotel is clean, the rooms are convenient. employees are helpful. A reliable place that does not require a deposit like other hotels. comfortable accommodation.

Not up to its Previous Standard Having stayed at I Residence many times over the years I have always considered it value for money. It is well located in a quiet Soi, the staff are friendly and the prices reasonable.I now feel that they have dropped their standards in terms of room cleanliness and the poor quality of the room furniture. On the positive, I had no idea they had a restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when I was invited to a buffet breakfast on the ninth floor on my last day.

I want to be totally honest here. I have stayed at i residence many times in the past and it has always been excellent, this time things were not the same. Given the lack of tourists the hotel is really struggling to the extent that there is minimal staff, the air con is not operating in reception, the pay tv channels have been cut, there are no tea or coffee making facilities and the room cleaning was not up to their high standards. Hopefully things will improve and the hotel will return to offering its high level of service at a budget price.

Where has the Thai warmth gone in Chiland?
Bed was rock hard and both of us slept on the lounge, not really what you pay for. Staff were pleasant but the natural genuine kindness of Thai people seems to have disappeared. Maybe they’re jaded with some of the crap they have had to put up with from particularly Chinese tourists, sorry don’t want to appear racist, but they’re everywhere and arrogant, rude and pushy as “F”. I don’t mind paying for things but I hate feeling ripped off and charging me 100 baht to use their iron was simply a rip off and has never happened anywhere before. If they had ironed 2 shirts and one pants I’d be be fine with that, just wish some of that genuine Thai kindness can be found again in most places we went to, not just with the hotel staff who really were ok, nothing actually bad to say about them. Just feels the warmth has gone from Thai people in Chiland Room is good, plenty of space and with 2 balconies and kitchen. AC is ok, hot water in shower, kitchen is functional when you ask for cooking gear, location ok but taxi to anything you want to see or do. Probably a 3 star hotel, not the advertised star rating especially for the price in what was Thailand but now appears to be Chiland

Unfortunately we left our son’s shoes in the hallway overnight and they were taken- our mistake, but surprised that either a guest or a staff would take them. We had discussed the issue with the staff. Although it was 9am when we reported the shoes missing, the staff advised us that they would review the sercurity footage the next morning - security camera outside our room. Next morning we asked about the footage and the shoes and they again told us they would look into it... at checkout, that same day, we waited 30 minutes with our luggage in their reception area. When asked to speak to the ‘manager’, we waited another 15 minutes with the response that the manager would come but not sure when. After waiting 45 minutes, it was obvious to us that the hotel had no interest or regard in theft, security of personal items and customer service- because when we finally got fed up with waiting for the ‘manager’ and got up to leave, the manager came in- did not try and stop us, no one asked for contact info in case the shoes showed up.
